. . . . heading north this afternoon on HW1 at Te Kauwhata, I couldn't help thinking what a poor image of motorcyclists you were conveying to the public. I was appalled.
I watched in a mix of horror and shame as you both forced your way past cars on the narrow single lane stretch between Cooks Landing and Hampton Downs, squeezing through an almost non-existant gap between the cheeze-cutter barriers and the wing mirrors in a space barely wide enough for the vehicles themselves. Your method of stealth, by not using headlights or indicators, was probably a further clue to your contempt of the people you were overtaking.
I have no problem with you both being so obviously hellbent on suicide, but could you kindly do it the decent way in the privacy of your garage on the end of a piece of rope instead of unnecessarily involving innocent roadusers?
No wonder motorcyclists struggle to get taken seriously as a road-user group . . . .

I wish that just once someone would realize that people aren't obliged to be ambassadors for something just because they choose this mode of transport

Katman is that you hiding inside a mild voice?? No, it can't be - your grammar and spelling are accurate (at least when you haven't been drinking at the keyboard), and there are no f words or w words (rhymes with tanker).

Actually, they weren't on sprotsbikes. although both were large capacity roadbikes.
Interestingly, I've been red-blinged for daring to suggest that these idiots should suicide at home. I should probably apologise to anyone offended by my remark, yet I would suggest that both of these guys came dangerously close to killing themselves this afternoon, and in all likelihood causing others potential injury (or worse) by trying to avoid the debris.
Watching these guys riding within a few centimetres of both the cheezecutters and the cars they were overtaking was like watching an ad for the Darwin Awards . . . .

Thats a skinny bit of road through there and I agree, fuckwits like that give me the shits. If you dont like cars being in the way, dont ride on SH1...SH22 is just a few Ks to the left.

I've had a couple of knob ends overtake me (and a line of other traffic) on the outside lane on the motorway next to the concrete barrier. They were on tractors with antiquated air cooled engines complete with full stretch apehangers.

Man that bit of road is insane - gives me the shits riding thru all that wire, I just tuck in and cruise with the flow of traffic. Not worth risking it if you ask me.

I would not be opologisng, but good on ya. I relise how you ment that as in 'dont involve you in their antics' NOT that you actually want them to jump of a chair.. surley the red repers relise that. Every 5 days... farking shocking.
Now, as far as ya thread goes I back you right up just like Katman I give a shit, every time I do a similer thread Im shot down by the ritious p/c police, well I tell ya all this.
This sort a shit DOEs affect us all rego for eg: the acc part of it is well OTT and will continue rising as more bike accos happen to the point we wont be able to afford to regester.
Remember the thread I did about us being our own worst enemy a couple a months ago? till then so far this year a biker died every 5 days... idiots like Max H witnessed.
