Hey, that is a great track configuration! I just need to convince work to let me take another Friday off.
And hopefully do better than 3 days ago, sitting in the pit garage the whole day, watching my slicks toasting in the tyre warmers...

I might be able to fit it in the van, although I haven't actually tried putting two bikes in it yet. Also I'd need to find another pair of tie downs.

I live in Mt Albert, so that will be an easy drop on Sat morning.

It was a fabulous day Sinfull, and we missed you! The weather stayed fine but for a few drops late morning. There was an amazing rider on a Harley in Group 2 showing us how to do it (rider of the day IMO!) The set of Dunlops went to a rider from the May trackday, Mr Sefton. There was a neat group of people there today and everything went well all day. Hope to see you next time.

Didn't feel like I got into the groove till about session 4, I'm not sure why. Some days are like that. But when it's going good, it's goood. Can't wait for my next fix... ;)

Damage: Scratched handguards and scratched axle sliders - otherwise good as new! Try that on a sport bike!
Oh yeah, a bruised ego and it might be time for some new gloves.

so it looks like the track repairs are almost done was it better?
WHat type of camera were you using
SeppoDave
29th August 2009, 17:42
It's an Oregon Scientific ATC3K. It's not the best picture quality, but at least the sound is crap! I really like it though. For what I use it for, just messing around and posting on Youtube, it's fine. I also like that it's all self-contained and it records to an SD card. Pretty easy for most people, it's just like any regular camera.
If I was making home movies or something I would get a bullet cam/dvr combo. But then you have to mount a box or carry a backpack.
This one just mounts to the side of my helmet

Grippier than the rest of the track. It surprises me that you can feel the difference even in the dry not just from the repair being a bit bumpier, but it actually still feels a bit grippier, I reckon.

I'm not actually sure. Looking at SeppoDave's video, maybe? But some of them (eg turns 1 and 2) still have tar snakes around them. And the surface at T5 was breaking up a bit.

It looks like Kawasaki is definitely more exotic bike on the track than 1098. I think I counted 5(!) this Friday!
So, inevitably, an on-board video of one 1098 chasing another...
