Hey Guys, trying to help a mate who is rebuilding a katana find a trick exhaust system and wondered a few things.
From what I can ascertain this is the same block as the 1000, which was then turned into and 1100 for the gsxr. Then a few years ago they released the gs1200ss retro looking thing (which from what I understand is a gsx 1100 engine with a few more cc. Question is will the yoshimura aftermarket headers from the gs1200ss fit on the 81 750 katana? If not where is the best place to find some that will? Haven't been able to find any to measure up and the ones he has are toast. Thanks in advance

Damon at Cycleworks has been making exhaust since the GS750 days. He should be able to tell you what will fit - may even have something in stock.

I doubt very much whether the 1200SS pipes will fit as it's an entirely different engine (oil/air cooled as opposed to air cooled) it's closer relative is the GSF1200 bandit etc. So something off most early models of GSX750 will fit.
However as the poster above said, Damon at Cycleworks would probably be your best bet for a cost effective system if you want something new, plus he can build exactly what you want. Another option though further away still, would be Custom Chambers in Auckland (http://www.customchambers.co.nz/)

I could get the dimensions off the headers I have here and you could get some bent to match.

Also motorcycle exhaust specialists (http://yellow.co.nz/whitepages/new-zealand/Motorcycle-Exhaust-Specialists/101588372_BUS.html) have been around for years, they might be still have the specs on building you a set. Autobend in Christchurch have a few header profiles for their computer controlled bender in the software which could be an option.
