Yeah mate, it is a good one for both racers and first timers ! Brian usually takes everyone for a walk round the track, talking lines, apex points, brake markers etc and it's split into road riders/first time and fast/race speeds so ya aint gonna get carved up on yr first time out there !
Hmmm I will back....seems a perfect way to make up for all the lost riding time!!

suitable for first time trackdayers?
I did my first track day with these guys last december and it was fookin superb... 2 groups, the largest of which had about 25 people of varying riding abilities, so plenty of track space. Then a fast group...
There were quite a few guys who knew the track well that were taking others around etc... think i'll try gettin Pussy to show me a few lines etc... and not just his scars...

He prefers pre payment but thats all good after talking to him sounds like it will be a good fun day with excellent value having some expert tips from brian on hand. Theres only a handfull down at this stage and he said if they get 50 to 60 they may look at geting the full track and the first timers or slower ones can play over the back if they want.

I also spoke to Lloyd in the weekend and he reckons if he gets over 50 or 60 we might get the full track so in the arvo those how havnt done it may just get their chance ...... Know i'd like to chase Brian down into dunlop again a few times at full noise !!!!

That would be the best thing to do (remembering he works farm hours but Jo might be around if he aint)
Last one it was two groups 20min each with a rolling lunch which Jo and Lloyd put on for us (yummy too)
Started mmmnnnmmm early with a walk around the track with brian talking lines, braking ponts etc ! Then into it, was great having Brian Bernard and Gareth Jones in the pits with us, as well as on track cause they're more than happy to pass on any knowledge they have !
It looks like Gareth is taking a break from his schedule around then, so i'm bringing my tow rope lol can't Guarantee he will be there on the day (man has to have a life outside racing yeah ?), but chances are very high, from what Brian was saying !
No problem for a trackday newby Milts, cause the numbers are kept so low and everyone will want to help ya with lines set up etc mate !

Don't quote me but last time it was 30 just to cover costs ! He sent out an email to all of us asking if we wanted the lesser numbers with higher cost or take it up to 40 with less cost !
Think the concensus was, to take it up to 40 as there's plenty of room on the track (think he was even looking at the back section too, if allowed)
Again don't quote me, my memory is shit !
Either way lots of space with a very relaxed day !
No meetings in Manfield around then so won't be many racers using it as a test day, be more like slowing down to go faster !

Right, that's it!
I'm sick of hearing about these "Brilliant", "Awesome" days!
Pussy, it is your duty to let me know when the next one will be (there better be a 'next one') so I can arrange the necessary excuses to attend!
Great to hear you all had a good time (bastards).
Had an EXTREMELY good time, thanks! :bleh:

Yeah I had a great time too. First time on Manfield track and second trackday ever. Man what a rush. Big ups to all organisers and Kerry. My R1 has never felt so good to ride with the new tweeks. Also thanks to Brian for the great tuition on the back track first thing in the morning. Thanks to Glen for taking my bikefor a couple of laps and to prove that my head wasnt the problem with the bike ( it was actually a setting). Thanks so much guys for an awesome day and I will be back for more.
Also was great to meet all the Kb guys and non Kb guys at the track.
Pussy and Gasit girl was great to meet ya.

Yeah that was really awesome....cool to have a more powerful bike out there for the first time (yes I know its only a 400 but I think I almost would have been faster on my 150!)

Dude...I've never riddin so hard before!
I got my chicken strips down to about 3mm shy of the edge of my back tyre...I'd say for a first timer that's not bad.
What's poling a flectcher? Sounds a bit rude, if you ask me....

Like everyone else, just want to thank Lloyd and Jo for a great day :woohoo:
My first track day and a great way to start into it with instruction from Brian and no pressure to go beyond my limits - still managed 173kph on the front straight, which is pretty fast for me!! :ride:
So, when is the next day?:p
PS - after yesterday it was one hell of a boring ride into work today!!!

Yeah was a great day, well put on by Lloyd & Jo
With some good pointers by brian & glen.
I personally didn't have a great day myself, i total destoryed the right hand side of conti race attack(soft), with 'cold sharing' (pressure issues & suspension issues)
But after sending Glen Williams out on the 600 for a wee bit to give me feed back on what changes changes need to be made, and with Kerry Dukic help with a few tweaks, bike felt better than it was.
So Glen let me chase him for a couple of laps until he got bored and left me for dust again.
First time i have ever done the FULL manfield track, and it was a bit of an experecice. changes the way you attack the manfield cirurit alot, but good none the less.
Cheers Guys and Girls for a great day.

hi all, thanks for coming along, and bringing the decent weather. Brian, Glenn Jo and I enjoyed our day, whay more could we ask ask for with good weather, road and bikers. Sorry we had a few more than planned, I will have to formalise my booking systems a bit more if we run another day. ( and I'm getting plenty of shit over it already thanks!!) Thanks for the good feedback, a day out with guys like that makes the hassles worthwhile. Is the long track the answer?, and do we need days more for the newbies, or is it better to have a mixture to help everyone out? Richard and Karen were awesome helping as marshals too. thanks everyone, see you next time L

The long track rules! More corners has got to be a good thing and I quite like the no camber thing.

Hey Lloyd, thanks again for a wicked day.
Just a comment on the newbies group that I was in, there were some riders going very fast in that group who did not really seem to be 'new' to track riding or riding fast. Brian did ask these people to move up to the next group, but I don't think many did. It wasn't a big deal, especially on the full track, but was quite challenging for us slower riders (well me anyway) with riders flying past on both sides some times, and I felt I was going too slow.
Got some good tips from Brian, particularly on approaching corners and bike set-up (this weekend's job), a little more on bike handling at speed would be good, but I'm not sure a whole day for newbies, as I enjoy watching the other groups as well that my friends were in (and having a rest in between) and it is great to be able to talk to some of the faster/race riders as well :)

Well done you guys for putting a well structured and organised day together with minimum fuss and still plenty of track time for all. The long track certainly allowed riders to space out a lot more (which worked out perfectly for the larger than expected attendance).
Having Dukic Suspension there for the day seemed a popular move as well, with a steady stream of visitors to his truck for plenty of free advice, many bikes looked better through the corners toward the end of the day than at the begining as riders improved their machine settings. Hopefully these settings will work in your day-to-day road riding.
Catch you all at the next one with luck !

I for one enjoyed the long track. It was good to actually got on it at last, even though I wasn't expecting that as part of 'the package'.
Next time I'll not book a garage, and will stay over in the pens with everyone else. I'll also be making a big push for one of the real racers to follow me around for a couple of laps too and tell me where I'm going wrong... Brian and Glen seemed busy all day, and good on them for stepping up

Outstanding day - my first track day in 10 years, and last time was on a 250 while I was still on L plates so this was the first time I was on a big(ger) bike.
Can't wait till the next one!
