works on mine.....must be that dodgy cheap computer you got off that nice man working out of his van  Mind you, the 'puke' one often won't work for me (where's that man & van gonna be tomorrow?)

Have the same problem with any animated image on my pc, even the little "X"s from forum whoredom wont blink for me. I just put up with it but if I can figure out what is causeing it I would certainly fix it.

If you are using the Firefox or the latest XP Internet Explorer you may have animations turned off. To enable them

Firefox : Enter about:config in the address bar. Find image.animation_mode . If the value is none or once, double click it enter normal . Restart firefox

Explorer : 1. On the Start menu, right click the Internet Explorer icon and then click Internet Properties.
2. On the Advanced tab, in the Settings dialog box, under Multimedia, select or clear the Play animations in web pages, Play sounds in web pages, or Play videos in web pages check boxes.

Then when the dammit things drive you mad - Enter Asylum-> Tear hair out

Did this but they were already checked. Might help to let you know that while it is downloading the page the work like normal but once the page is loaded they stop.

The reason I quit the IT field after I studied&passed the qualifications I did, was because I HATE intermittent problems(EDIT: Ok ok, maybe not just that, but is sure was a small factor :P). Sometimes I boot up, and they flash/animate. Other times they don't.

Computers are evil! Evil I tells ya.

Was just thinking, maybe I should be glad that animated avatars and stuff don't work for me. Else I would have to see NC_30chick's avatar move. :shudder:

Are you using Zonealarm. That has a setting that allows them to run once only (usually the one shot is seen as the page opens). If so, turn it off

Nope and have no idea what that is. They sometimes run for longer than just once though so I don't think that is it, and they don't always freeze in the same spot. Just where ever they happen to be when the page finnishes loading.

Don't worry about it mate.I'm not and in a few cases it can be considered a blessing.

What?

I often, but not always, have a different problem - I click to insert a smiley and it just does a "page up". If I click on [more] and open the smiley sub window, they work just fine. Weird...
