View Full Version : Do women get more out of bikes?

Babelfish
29th July 2009, 14:51
I cant recall (and have searched) whether this has been broached on KB. If so, flame it. If not, lets head to the polls.

I have been having a discussion with a female colleague of mine around the...um...vibrational aspect of bikes. In particular twins. Although jokingly mentioned, I did suggest that pleasurable side effects of twins would be a factor in overall sales to women.

What are you thoughts on this (Please vote)

Note to dealers using this site: No need to thank me for additional market data.

So why don't more women ride thumpers?

Or is it about vibrational quality, rather than quantity?

I’m presume that if women were getting constantly turned on while riding motorcycles that there would be:

a. A greater number of female riders on the road.

b. A statistically higher % of women riders crashing (it would be hard to concentrate while getting ones jollies off).

I appreciate you bringing this interesting subject to KB

When I have 'My Wife' on the back she does get the vibration through the foot pegs, but that dont count eh?...

Anyone want to do a KB bulk purchase?

Damn, I knew there was something I forgot to add in to the Trade Me advert for my bike. Yes indeed ... Mrs Oakie will confirm that at about 7200rpm there is certainly some ... err ... pleasure to be had.

C'mon you guys ... buy my 'Love Tool' Honda CB400. You'll be a hit with the girlies. It's listed on KB in the appropriate place. Infact, I think I might even go and add that bit in... :shifty:

well it was a bit of a thing when I was a teenager (about 25 to 30 years ago), we'd undo the stitching in the seat and cut a small channel in the foam, cut the end of a broom handle off and lay it in there - just a short piece under the pillion part of the seat.
Apparently it helped transfer the vibrations thru better, not sure if it made a difference but everyone swore the girls were more up for it than before?

But I think it probably had more to do with the fact that for most young ladies getting on the back of bike with the local hoon was rebellious, risky and the ride was a little exciting!

Heard of something similar...it was a half tennis ball instead of end of broom handle and you also cut the pockets out of your jeans.....

Well I get the jollies from my V-Twin....well more of the thrill sort when I hear that engine roar. Can't say I can comment on the vibration part as I try not to think that I have a rear cylinder under my seat as I rid.

ManDownUnder
29th July 2009, 17:41
the answer to the question is yes.

Do all women get off on all bikes? No? Most engines have rev range where they vibrate just that bit more (on the RF it was just over 3,000rpm) and that did wonders for some pillions, but it wasn;'t the intended purpose for the ride (c cell's and a dick shaped piece of plastic are a lot cheaper by the hour than a 900cc in line four doing 3,000... ish rpm).

Of course you can't pop out to get a coffee on a vibrator... without getting arrested anyway...

the VTR1000 has a small hard back seat so should give a good buzz too...

Interesting responses, some good honesty from the KB gang...I'm feelin the love...even if it is rather squdgy. My colleague definately confirmed the phenomenon (actually I wouldnt have posted otherwise and would have just put the concept down to my rather deviant mind).

Amazingly so far I have only had one red rep out of this - and that was from a known completely anal rummaging red neck tosser taking a break from telling us all what a legend he is (well at least we got a break from the latter while he was repping) :Pokey:

And it all starts with the impatient longing to ride. You feel the passion and elation build, savouring the delectable aroma as you envelope yourself in leather, relishing the feel against your skin.

And it all starts ... impatient... longing... ride... feel... passion... elation... build... savouring... delectable... aroma... envelope... leather... relishing... skin.

As you approach... lustful ride... glide...breath... hunger...comes...life.

Exquisite ecstasy...

...slither...squirm

 You had me at "impatient"

cs - thanks, but I don't think you'll be needing the added extra for me[/SIZE]

Co-pilot calls bogus.
She's been on the back of every test bike that had a back seat.
Nada on the panty party.

Hmmm looking to take control cc? I like, but since I've asked the question I guess I'm the school kid and you're the teacher (hmmm, Mrs Robinson?) and I'm still owed a picture I believe? :bleh:

As for the quote, my apologies, I was otherwise preoccupied and wasnt giving it my full attention. However, you have my full attention now and both hands at the ready :shifty:

Well I would, Babel, if refering to yourself, but that would just leave me with too much time on my hands after. :wait:

If you mean am I more mature & hotter then you, could be.

But your delinquency is not an age thing, hun. :baby:

I'd hate to think what you'd be doing infront of my pic. :shit:

Why Babel, kind offer, but I'm flying over to visiting cs363 this weekend & I intend on making the most of my time. :spanking:
Don't intend on relying on any bike seat. Don't intend on getting much sight seeing done either :innocent:

So why don't more women ride thumpers?

Or is it about vibrational quality, rather than quantity?

*Looks at her bike parked outside (well at frosty's atm)
