Looking forward to the Magpie Rally again this year. Was talking about this with someone the other day who currently doesn't own a bike and they asked if you have to enter the rally site on a bike or can they do walk-in entries as well.
I didn't actually know the answer as I have been to a couple of these but didn't really take much notice of people arriving in the gates really. I have seen a lot of people who don't look like they came on a bike unless they brought many changes of clothing with them and their kids. I'm already taking a pillion this year so I can't take them.
Does anyone out there know the answer to whether they allow walk-in pay entries?

I received an entry form in the mail yesterday.
It don't say anything special about padestrian entrys so it is likely they go in and pay the same as a normal entry. Some Rallys charge extra for walk ins.
http://www.ttag.org.nz/html/rally.html is the website.
There you will find a phone number to ring if no one else has a better answer.

Thanks guys. My view on going to bike rallys is the enjoyment of riding there and the fellowship of the crowd who are all there cause they share the same interest of bike riding and all that goes with it ie good drinking, music, shows, bikes, entertainment etc. You take everything you need to get by with you on the bike. Pedestrian entry isn't the same spirit to me. However, I am not intent on getting into debates on this. I just had someone ask me a genuine question that I didn't know the answer to and I thought that kb members who have been might know. Thanks again for the replies. See ya there. :ride:

The reason there is so much security at rallies is those that walk in can also ride out, hence those on the gates check your wrist band, good to at least you know your ride is half safe...

hey dangerous,
It's cool man. I didn't mean to sound like there was any hassling. There isn't. Just didn't want to annoy people with my views that do arrive by car & trailer with all the extras. We can all do our own thing. See ya at the Magpie.
