My other post has bought me to another question of oil for my motocross.
Is there any reason why you have to use branded motorbike oil ?
Is car oil (As long as its the same grade) the same thing ? Because its alot cheaper to get a 4L or car oil then it is to get bike oil.
Cheers

On most bikes the engine oil lubricates the gearbox as well as the engine. Car oil is not the same and not capable of lubricating the gearbox properly. You'll end up with problems like the clutch slipping etc.
