Just noticed the foot peg on my vstrom has been bent forward (probably a standing drop by previous owner) It has cracked the alloy bracket bending it backwards.
Is there anypoint in trying to repair? or is it a case of a new bracket?
Suzuki want $170 for this little bit of metal..!

Fwiw maybe online cross ref of part numbers might be the go,of all the jap brands they seem to be top of the list for using same stuff on different models. If part numbers the same you may be able to pick something up in good nick from a wrecker.Ive a couple of brackets of TLs in the shed but probably a little old to have been used on a Strom.Ron Ayers site use to be good for the x ref thing.

Have had a few welded up on the race bike. It's cheap. Also you can get some rods (about $60) and do it yourself with a propane canister.

As it happens yes. I go to Select Engineering, 50 Parkway Drive (off Constellation) Go into the workshop rather than reception and ask for Troy and he'll do a cashy.

Hmm, if cast then it will be a pig & the best way is to weld a plate filling in the centre section (if typical triangle bracket). Ugly but strong. But beware come WOF time, many will fail if welded footpegs or bracketry.
