The vast majority of people know where they are & we are now spending more in up keep than they return in revenue.

Sounding a lot like an admission to a focus on revenue collecting rather than safety :nono:

Well that's all a result of the public outcry over revenue-gathering that forced cameras to be made high-vis and sited only at accident blackspots, rather than hidden behind signs on the first bit of straight road after a twisty or congested spot...

Durham doesn't have/hasn't had speed cameras. Their record for deaths/injuries/etc. is far better than the counties that do have them.
Yet they are targeted for abuse by the likes of Brake, et al for it.
