View Full Version : Slagging off

The act of slagging off products is way out of line in my opinion.
If you work in the industry where certain brands are sold, there is no reason what so ever to periodically slag off any other brand. You can have a dislike for a particular product, but to just state that the product is crap without any evidence to back your claim up, stands for nothing. If you are employed by a Supplier/Retailer of Motorcycle gear, how would the Empolyer view the rants about other brands on a Biker site?
Yes this thread was promted by the recent Drider87 threads.

They are in PD....doesn't take much to work out who they are directed at.
My point is though, they are hardly Product Reviews and I see it as a callus and immature way to carry on. But, taking into consideration the age of those that post the personally directed bullshit, gives me the impression that they have wee bit of growing up to do.

But those that own a Honda know exactly where that sort of slagging comes from...purely because we know that we own a quality machine and a little bit of jealousy from those that own la esser machine is to be expected...

I have an extremely well sculptured & firm bottom, and I have often noticed riders of other (dare I say lesser) brands of motorcycles giving it a sly check when they think I not watching.
I am comfortable with my old fashioned type of woman loving sexuality and I have no desire to try out any questionable new-age kinks. Every time I see these fellas perving at me I know that I have the spunky Mrs B at home, I rise above my homophobia and accept these kinky little glances as a compliment to the fine condition I keep my aging body in (pictures soon):sunny:.
It's time for riders of other brands to get out of the closet and embrace your poo-pusher feelings and stop hiding them by making your 'Honda riders are gay' comments.
I'm unsure but there are probably web sites dedicated to your desires and possibly even gay 'have-a-go' track days?

i sell professional quality mechanical tools (American, Euro, Jap manufacture..) some of my biggest competitors are Snap-On and Trade Tools .. if you look in my toolbox .. both brands are represented..(no Chinese shit though.. i WILL slag off shit quality)

Thank you for answering that question SARGE, I guess it was a rhetorical question but, its not the first time this particular product has been called into question by these young fellows.
If they feel the need to say anything at all, then a full review on the product is requiered, not just be all overly judgemental and say ''its crap''.

also ..lets just pretend for a second here.. say 2 guys .. lets call them Steve and Rob come up together as 15 year old motorcycle enthusiasts.. ride together .. race together etc ..
now a few years down the line .. Steve buys a motorcycle shop and Rob buys a competitor shop.. both these guys have shitloads of friends in the motorcycle industry who own various businesses ..
so anyway .. Rob hires someone with a little too much time on his hands .. probably fairly young .. and the young man spouts off something at a party one evening where everyone can hear "Slamming" Steves shop ...."COMPETITORS" dont necessarily mean ENEMIES
Steve hears this and calls Rob over and mentions it to him... now Rob wouldnt look kindly to hearing this ... Fires the young man and tells all his mates not to bother hiring him..
that would suck:done:

Yes indeed Mr D, indeed :shifty:
I have found in very recent times just how small the motorcycle industry is but fortunately for this honky it has worked in my favour but only due my own doing. However if I'd been slagging off my so-called competitors then I'd be jobless at the moment. Instead I scored a new job within 5 days and have 2 other prospects too.

When you do a product review on any given bike, its honest, and theres the difference between right and wrong...honesty, not a narrow minded view on things.

Oh deary, I did cause a bit of a stir.
Here is my apology. It was a bit of a mistake on my part to slag gear, I apologise to the gear manufacturer I did slag, woe I am young and naive.
I have never stopped customers from buying other brands, and direct them to other stores regularly where they can find items in stock or of a different nature.
I was testing the waters as to what I can get away with, it was meant as a bit of fun. Hence the names if the threads, terrorism, woah and dammit jafa as well as the associated replies like "party in my pants".
I on numerous occasions have been told of slagging of other motorcycles stores and brands by other retailers, I will make it clear that in no way was where I work associated with the things I said. Ill take this one on the chin, If you guys report me, so be it. Ill lose my job, my only income and I guess Ill have to look for other work.
The threads were a mistake, I seem to have stirred a hornets nest. Again my apologies.

how Interesting, looks like a thread spawned from Mr Jafa in relation to his kevlar jeans that he ripped a hole in the bum (but apparently the jeans did it by themselves)
so instead of following his options , ie return, we inspect, offer credit or refund (or potentially nothing), he seeks time and time and time again to try and bring our Brand into disrepute using methods typical of a baby needing a mummies titty and enlisting like minded plonkers to slag us off.
Message to Mr PJafa and co.
You have some rights under the consumers guarantees act and you are of course entitled to exercise them, but you do need to follow the obligations that you have to us the retailer, ie return the goods in a reasonable time frame (this is essentially gone however) if that does not bring you satisfaction you can opt for your relief by way of a small claims court hearing, I will gladly attend this hearing and in this process I will be bringing evidence of your online actions to indicate to the court your attitude towards satisfying your apparent claim.
Thats your options, here is mine, I treat my business seriously and with this in mind will offer no further tolerance of your campaign against our product you either adhere to your rights as a consumer (which do not include public slagging) or I shall be contacting my lawyer to consider legal options against you, Im serious.

I wonder whos turn it will be next, to sound off like a little girl thats been sent to bed early?
Note of interest though, he seems a lone voice on the topic of which he spouts?
Shift Kevlar Jeans - almost daily use = 1 1/2 years and counting. No sign of wear.
I'd be pissed off too and even if I didn't want to discuss it here, I'd spread the word one way or another.

Interesting read. Everyone has a right to their opinion. And if that opinion is hurting someone else, then that someone else has the right to defend him/her self. But for someone who has no involvement to moderate/abuse/delete someone elses opinions/writing is IMHO corrupt and censorship as a result of a false belief of knowing better than the poster.
Now I realise that my way to only use old and worn gear that I have owned for years and I do not expect perfection from, is a way to save money, save frustration and be realistic re performance.
And if/when there is some damage/failure I fix it my self. Nothing wrong with duct tape and cable ties. And used motor oil is brilliant to weather protect stuff with! It also does not detract from my image as a relic from the past.
Peace!

Qmoto Jeans, 12 oz denium, more soft kevlar than most, been wearing them for three years almost regulary and no sign of wear.
And for the record their is a process for disgruntled customers, it starts with returning the goods so the retailer can see and make an assesment weather to refund or credit or replace, we where never given that option, rather we face regular slagging, is that fair is it ?

What do you do beyond KB? Make your customers sign an oath not to discuss the quality of your products to anyone.....ever.....not even their spouse/dog/priest in the confession box?
Jumping to the defense all the time just looks bad...moderators stopping discussion looks really really bad

What are you talking about? of course we cant control what people say and of course if we are getting slagged off we will take a position to defend ourselves, when our products get slagged for reason of malice we will defend it why wouldnt we, especially when its a campaign with no intent to resolve and issue founded by a plonker.
Moderators stopping discussion ? ya what? its all here nothing deleted for all to read.
What business are you in, can I go online and slag you off would you find that acceptable would you? no option of resolution? you would be happy with that would you?
I have requested someone to mediate this so it can go away, this is my initiative.

Fair call, but, and heres the difference between what you are saying and what goes on with regards to this particular issue. Its gone past getting it sorted (although thats being worked on) and become a war of he said/I said, you're a wank, na you're the wank mate etc and never the twain shall meet (buts that being worked on also)

Ahh yes, "considering consequences".
IIRC the cerebral cortex is not fully developed until about age 25 in most people. This is the part of the brain that deals with linking actions and consequences.
It's also why most WW2 fighter pilots were very young. Mostly under 21 to start? They wanted older steadier types for bomber pilots so they tended to be 23 or older.
Considering all that, it's clear nobody under 23 should be allowed to drive a car or ride a motorbike :devil2:

Got myself a pair of Quasi kevlar jeans when he was making them, had them for about over 2 years now I would say, commute in them daily, so probably 30,000km all up in them, mostly with armour underneath.. a seam hasn't so much as ripped yet and they've seen all the elements possible.
I personally don't have any other of Quasi's stuff because I don't like big lables all over the place (I also prefer cordura for commuting and Quasi is predominantly leather) but this particular product is great!
Not creating an argument or anything, just giving another buyer's perspective!
Happy thoughts, everyone! Calm blue oceans! :sunny:
