My thoughts exactly. NZ was very proud of him when he was winning for us but because he got a better offer, now he's a prick. I say good on him. I like the guy. His bashers should focus more on why NZ keeps failing at professional sports. Something to do with management.

He wasn't the only guy to leave the Island.

Spoken like an immigrant...

Look - I couldn't give a fuck if he left but perhaps you were not here yet when it happened.

I mean if you decide to 'leave' the armed forces during a battle because the other side offer more money well I suppose thats OK too? My reasons are...

They (his team) took collections/donations of money from ordinary people for a 'NZ' campaign...

Hes greasy and I don't like him...

What good did 'yachting' or this dork ever do for our country?

Hes NOT Sir Edmund

I don't LIKE him...

I don't like his wife OR his mates....

No - I don't fuckin forgive him... He broke my mums heart... She bought some of those poxy red socks and he got some of the $$

He was already rich....

I really don't like him - met him once - he was a cunt....

the RED socks were a Peter Blake thing you know the guy who fucked off doing what he wanted to do and got himself killed on the Amazon whereas Coutts left and made room for Dean Barker lets face it the Mericas Cup was a massive con job to let rich people play with their "toys" and have the peasants foot the bill ah la taxpayer and ratepayer

I agreed with him when he went, hell it's his option whether he stayed or went, didn't like the way everyone jumped and said traitor etc.
And they reported about the yachting fraternity agreed he deserved it.

At the time I wondered what the difference between him and Dickson was as they both jumped ship, but Dickson didn't win.Personally the crap the media promotions fed the gullable was amazing,we hold rip off merchant b(w)ankers as pillars of society for injecting the millions into a race, the word ego and tax dodge springs to mind.

You are absolutely right. The America's Cup is a contest between yacht clubs. It is not, and has never been, a contest between nations.

Coutts was given the honour several years ago. All that has changed is that he's decided to accept the title of Sir now that the honours system has been revamped.

Won olympic gold medal for NZ (I think)
He helped win the cup
he helped defend the cup
This isnt a NZ thing the Americas cup is corporate.
Rich boys and their toys.

Good on him I say!
The nz'ers that should be ashamed are the black heart people.

I'm glad Australia remains a classless society. :-)

In Aus - If you bat for the other side - you better stay on the other side.

I don't quite believe he runs the Centre of Excellence at the cricket academy. He blames one of the biggest acts of treachery in the history of sports on 'a cry for help at the time'.

As you can probably tell - you weren't the only roosters pissed off by it.

Lowe on Carozza for a slap on the wrist is the square up.

C'mon Paul, the man is world class professional at what he does! (Sir Russell, yep, got a nice ring to it)

He did it for New Zealand until they shat on him, so he went and did it for himself.

You can't tell me that the NZ Americas cup squad that he left were a very honourable bunch, what a bloody fiasco they turned out to be!

Best submarine ever to attempt an Americas cup defence and they were not representing NZ, they were a private franchise. :whocares:

By the way, I hope you are feeling better about yourself. (read your post about??????)

So who are we talking about Crowe or Coutts?

If it's Crowe - what did he do, he doesn't even know what country he wants to belong to (unless he's finally decided).

If it's Coutts, he did his thing (the winning part). I can't believe people are still bagging him. How many years ago was it? Shit, I'd hate to piss those people off, they'd spit on my coffin 60 years from now! Way to hold a grudge.

Yeah - they'll be OK.
Hussey & Johnson should have been replaced long before now however.

Lee and Clarke in and 1-1.

With two wickets down of your second innings and one day to play with England yet to bat? You haven't been paying attention have you?

When did you stop? Draw today. Change cattle for next game. 1-1.

Come home with Urn again.

Good how it's going with home field advantage again. It all got a bit ho-hum for a while.
