BMW have been making 180 degree transverse Vee twins for many years.

Theres quite a few obscure brands when you sift through it all, Victoria and panthers Panthette designed I think by Grandville Bradshaw among others. also of course thew Honda ST1100/1300

I like this, a Harley motor turned sideways and hooked up to a BMW gearbox, now that's a true custom Harley.

Here's another one, Victoria Bergmeister 350cc from Germany. A tidy looking bike for that era, 1955

A little history on the NS750.I have a photo of the prototype, but this stupid fucking website won't let me post it as I must have done it before.

http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/classics/bike.asp?id=32

Rumour is Freddy Spencer was a bit frustrated, and told Honda if they want to beat Harley, then they need an XR750.I think it is no coincidence that the RS750 (and the XLV750 that was used to homogulate the cases) has the same bore and stroke as the XR750,and is alone in the Honda V twin line up in being 45 degree, air cooled and dry sump.
