Early February this year I purchased an Escort Passport 8500 from <a href=http://www.radarprotection.co.nz/index3.html>Radar Direct:</A> Works well too, a definite improvement on my 4 yr old Bel.

Plugging it in before setting out over Easter and noted that the display was not functioning???

On Tuesday I phoned to see if the problem could be simply solved and was told to package it up and send it back.

This morning courier delivered a NEW unit. I emailed to ascertain the fault and received a reply saying "Not sure yet."

That is SERVICE and if you can get cheaper somewhere else - it may not be that cheap in the long run.

I have no links with Radar Direct - except as a happy customer.

Agreed , I purchased my Bel from them a few years back and it had a fault, was replaced with a new unit no fuss at all. Excellent to deal with.

I had problems with my HARD display unit (or the sender unit rather) not working. Went into their local agents here in Christchurch, from whence it came. Plugged it in and , "hmm, yes it is dead". Pulls out a new one from the stores and on my way. No problems or arguments.
