i got me a back protector a awhile ago.
probably a dumb question but is there a right or wrong way to wear it?
ive tried it straight on my skin and over a light singlet.
i prefer over the singlet but if i have a spill will it move if its on my singlet?

I wear mine over a light tshirt in a vain effort to reduce the smell of my leathers.

Mine has a waist band that I do up rather tight and it aint moving no where.

wouldn't go wearing it against your skin. you'll sweat like a bastard to start with but if it DOES move in an accident, I can only imagine the seams would have a go at opening up your skin. always wear mine over my shirt, nice and comfy and I don't need to wash it after a hot ride!

Has anyone else seen the Dianese high end models. They're built into a vest. You can see it here (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/35-DAIN05-9) . Nice if you can afford it. Then there's this one (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/35-DAIN05-26) for the winter. Mmmmmm :niceone:

I wear mine on my front. That way the crash has to go through the protector and me to get to my back. :2thumbsup

Well I don't have a need for any form of back protection as I am a spineless bastard with no moral fibre. :killingme

I use a spool 6 link for both road and racing, although the shoulder straps dig in a bit if you wear it for any length of time otherwise it's fairly comfortable to wear

If you'd bothered it visit when you were up you could have tried it :shake:

is there no one else who has a jacket with the back protector actually part of the jacket?

Backprotectors have (generally) a hard shell (generally plastic) which stops the shock of and object doing huge amounts of damage.. Saved me major discomfort a number of times from when i have highsided...

my new spike one piece dose... a token piece of of foam with a slighly harder bit of plastic over the top.
completly dont trust it, a mate has offered me his old one (for a small koha) so will look forward to using that when racing in a couple of weeks!! :Punk:
