View Full Version : Cop speed crackdown in Wellington?

Was just out riding today after Uni (lovely sunny day with no wind for once down here). Usually it's pretty rare to see a cop car hanging around with a speed gun in the CBD at this time, but I saw a total of THREE motorcycle police in about 90 minutes - one sitting on the side of the road along Oriental Parade, one had just pulled someone over on Taranaki Street, and then there was one about a k south of the Petone offramp who had also pulled someone over.
Anyone know if they've decided to let the police motorcycle group loose on the speeding public today? Or just a coincidence?

Lets put it this way, would you respect a police officer more if they road in a car or rode a bike?

O noes! People breaking the law getting pinged for it! Who'd have thought THAT could happen?

Are you sure it wasn't the same biker cop?
One time when I was up at Mangawhai (a small coastal town North of Auckland) where there are only two local cops. I was pretty high, and doing naughty stuff on the Golf Course, I could have sworn I saw 8 cop cars... freaked me out. Turned out it was the same cop car all 8 times

The biker cops are no different to us. Talked to plenty of them at the lights.
They just love riding on a nice day. And today certainly was.
And yes, they definitely wave back. :)

Yes they do (As Ixion stated).
Only bad people get pinged for speeding.
Speeding is bad.

Dunkin' Donuts had sold out for some unusual reason (conference in Porirua?) so they had to go and do some proper work.

I've met 3 of the local motorcycle cops and I've got to say I'd only have a beer with one of them.

Actually, the short arse little twat out of Lower Hutt is not like any other biker I know. Even the local coppers think he's a twat. In fact I'd be very surprised if he had his own bike.

Iv`e just thought about your thread: COP-SPEED-CRACK down.
Maybe a conspiracy theory, but , who knows.
All the cops want to do is collect money for the government and we are paying for it in fines.
Yes John Keys is getting all the police to take drugs, and in their delusions , think that you are going faster than you actually are, and hence are ticketing you at a speed that you weren`t actually going.
Fuck yeah , they are out to get ya,:blink:
Revenue gathering I reckon.
Maybe just coincidence, I`m just speculating

I'm thinking the drug taking's going on here but not by the people you suggest.
And who is this "Keys" character you're talking about?

Must be the start or end of the quota period. I've had frequent roadside conversations regarding the volume of my bike just lately. I keep showing them my testing station warrant too!
