Hi there folks. had a fair bit on the ol plate lately so haven't been out to the track. been re building the gs450....... it's now a 500 so watch out!. it took a fair bit of fluffing around. Christchurch gasket co are pretty sweet. made me a new head gasket for a decent price.
I've just had an unfortunate incident when puttting the cam caps on.... pulled the thread out of one and need to heli coil. was gonna buy a kit today but at 70 or 80 squid for the whole kit when i only need one thread done i thought i'd try and see if anyone has an m6 kit which i could use for some Macs, Montieths..... or tasman bitter!
was hoping to make it out to puna this weekend ... i'll see how i go
kind regards
Shane

is this a slur on buckets or what :spanking:
just because we race buckets dosent mean that we have old heaps that need fixing all the time
go ask some post classic guy about that :nono:
or better still go ask a friendly mechanic (if you can find any)
sweat talk him into lending or fixing it for nothing :P (some will some want 90 quid an hour :Oi:)
if you where up here I could help out but sorry I'm not going down there to help. Unless the BOB is on and you pay the air fair for me and the bike
have fun I know your pain I have a sump plug to do :argue: (not on my bucket mind you)
good luck :niceone:

Hey, there'll be no shameless sponsor plugging on this thread.... oh, alright, go for it.. as long as i can plug mine. Thanks wallet.
got the GS back together and had a naughty ride round the streets. Its got a decent amount of poke now that she's a 5 hundy and actually has compression.
The helicoil worked out okay but the clown who did it got swarf EVERYWHERE. took ages to make sure it was all clean.
I actually might go racing at the bears on sunday afterall
