Any of you going to the HOG rally at Middlemarch this weekend?

For those who haven't been before it's based at an old woolshed (no standing in the wet if it rains) and is almost in the middle of nowhere about 5-6 km from the town of Middlemarch.

The ride from SH1 is through Mosgiel and Outram and then onto a real good hilly and twisty road with the Clarks Junction pub being a good "get breath back and have drink" spot before continuing on to where the road flattens out onto some tempting long straights before Middlemarch where another 'pre-site' drink at the pub there is de riguer.

See you there.

So no worries about making myself known to other KBers at Middlemarch going by the response so far? :drinknsin

Lovely roads round there, if I was in the Sth Island I'd come along and have a look-see (wouldn't stay though, don't do tents!)

You big jessie!! :bleh:
If you had got in early there are rooms in Middlemarch at the pub etc. but I dare say the HOGers would have booked them out by now.

I'm hoping to get there SD.
I've made two or three of them to date.
I'm engaged in an intense debate at home as to who deserves the weekend off the most.
I'm bloodied, bruised but unbowed - but if I'm honest, my record of success in these discussions isn't as good as I would like!!!

You got to do what you got to do and if going to the rally is going to cause a terminal relationship crisis, well......you know what I mean.

Still hope to see you there man, fingers crossed matey!!

Yeah I doubt that I'll make 10am.
Wifey's away Friday night and I'll have to wait until she gets home whenever that might be.
So if I do get away it'll be later on unfortunately.
It isn't much of a ride for you guys, will you go round Lauder, St Bathans....?
Or maybe Lawrence and up through Outram?

Problaby via Lauder on the way there and Oterehua on the way home. Its only 150 km each way, so won't even have to refill anywhere.

Middlemarch rally went o.k, caught up with phaedrus and DarkOne.
Poor phaedrus had a bit of an oops in the main street of Middlemarch when a woman backed into his parked bike!!! Broke off the bolted-on casting that the rear brake master-cylinder/pedal arrangement bolts to.

Trip to-and-from Middlemarch was good - no rain for us lucky ones coming in from the South but the others north of Dunedin had lotsa of rain & muddy roadworks to contend with.

Met Celtic Sea Lillys' sister Lulu there, she was a singer for one of the bands.

Later. (bed is luring me).

Question:
Was it SumDog who woke DarkOne from his deep sleep about 3:00am with the smoking his rear tyre on the famuos HD Sportster inside the shearing shed. :first:

if anyone's interested here's a pic of the damage. hopefully it was the weakest point in the system otherwise there'll be a lot of damage to the hydraulics. At least they weren't stuck on. that would have really recked the day.

How did you know it was a Sportster? It could have been somebody on a stolen bike? Maybe it was just a dream you had?
I'm FAR too sensible for such shennanigans I'll have you know :msn-wink:

It was meant to be a smiley face ( aparently)!
