If you're talking buckets, you probably got pretty much up to your normal position by the first hairpin
That things a rocketship off the line. :Punk:

Was a brilliant day. The bucket went, but not as good as I would have liked.
The RD was the greater ball of fun today.
Mrs Bullet was even extremely receptive to the idea of heading to Levels next weekend... but we shall see, gotta sort this Bucket a little more.:scooter:

had a good ol' day on the newly freshened up gs450. real quick off the line and nice to ride. certainly faster than the sloppy bag of shite it used to be and pulled some nice passes (i know, self praise is no praise at all but it put a smile on my face). Just to put it into perspective bren on a 100cc bike was keeping up with me and passed me at one point... took quite a lot of wind out of my sails that did!! Ghost bullet you are smokin on the rd
unfortunately my cb125t crapped itself. i found some piston and ring looking bits in the tail pipe and the spark plug has a ding in it although it looks fine through the spark plug hole. the piston is all shiney so i dont know what that means .... does it mean it wasnt firing so was just getting washed by the fuel or does it mean it was running super lean and hot. dunno.
FXR here i come:Punk:

Yup, and awesome day. I really enjoyed my new toy - thanks Buddha :) Both bikes ran like a dream, and I seem to be finding my way around better. Had a bit of a dice in the last two races with some guy on a FXR still with a number plate & rego! Great fun. Roll on Levels next Saturday.:wari:

Ya not looking down at a shiny piston top, but the reflection from the oil in the crank...
DONT DO IT... proddies need ya, theres a entire bike selling for 200 at the mo and or engine rebuilds are a piece a piss on the CB.

Enjoyed the day as well. My clutch repairs have been successfull no more slip. Having trouble getting off the line though, the front wheel is liking to leave the ground. Finally got my arse off the seat going round the hairpin, just before it hit the tarmac. Got on the gas too soon, and it let loose. There is video evidence. I think I had too much air in the tyres as well.

Give me my old CB or MT rep anyday, bloody awesome fun but a high maintance scedual is required, now with the intro of one wage and one sprog I did not have any cash for this maintance and or the time... sooooo the FXR would be the right option for me "WRONG" as you know I managed one of the 1st FXR blow ups so my theory was fucked. Once again I was rebuilding a engine, my theory of a cheaper option in racing being go out and push a button and go racing cos I could afford it failed. All seems good now tho heres hoping I can still aford to keep racing.
I think I had too much air in the tyres as well.
What were you running in them?

How was the first outing on the GSX400?
I was having a problem turning in tight enough in the first couple of races on the TZR150 after having a bit of a think about it I decided it was to much knee down bullshit, pulled it up a bit in the last race and started going a bit quicker, it is the first Bucket I have ridden that I would rate higher than the mighty GN for ride-ability

It felt pretty dramatic, and plenty of aches and pains today. Your dad showed
me the vid off his camera. Yes indeed, need proof to show that a 1980 125 can let loose if you get on the gas too soon:shit:

What were you running in them?[/QUOTE]
I pumped them up at the gas station on the way to the track with the intention of checking it later. When I remembered, between race 2 and 3 (oops) the back was near 40 PSI and the front 35, I dropped them back to about 28 and it felt much better in race 3.

How was the first outing on the GSX400?
The new toy was great fun. I just pootled along near the back feeling my way (being an old fart an all) the bike has never gone slower I'm sure! I really enjoyed the extra track time even if I did miss the last all in - I didn't realise they had scrapped the CAMS/Pre82 and combined the last two until too late  No doubt they announced that while the bucket all in was going...
I think the grin on my mug when I came in from practice said it all. It's a bit peaky, not much happens under 7k where it comes alive, and I need to concentrate on keeping the revs up, much like my FXR which is strong above 8k. Infact apart from the extra weight and grunt it's not so much different to the FXR, just gotta remember not to wind on the power too early out of the hairpin - gave myself a wee fright there  The two should compliment each other well given the similarity - no real mind shift between bikes.
Both bikes are known quantities and the only reason either of them were not further up the feild on Sunday is down to the pilot, so the pilot has gotta get his act together and the extra track time/experience/confidence/relaxing etc will help. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers.

It was cool to see you enjoying it. Nothing worse than selling a bike and it not be used or enjoyed. Look at it this way, with double the track time your riding will improve twice as fast. To be honist that bike should go better in the mid range, with a decent tune you may find it becomes easier to ride. It was a engine that lived at redline only because thats the only power it produced.
