Has anyone been to this race previously or thinking of going to this event next year, if so what are the best places to stay etc. Whislt there i would also like to go the the KTM factory and get a 4-5 day ride somewhere Romania looks good; any info greatly appreciated.

Would love to go some time but not really in the the budget for a long, long while. If you get the chance do it and make us all green with envy

Yes i am going to ask Birtchy, i'm sure he will have some contacts (with Red Bull even better). I would even carry his bags for that. I do hope that Chris and Rory are both attending the event next year along with any other keen Kiwis. Good luck to them all, hope to see them on the podium no less.

I visited Mattighofen a couple of years ago, hired a 640SM in Munich, fanged around the alps for a few days - great road riding - & saw the KTM factory. It was a cool trip.

They didn't have any organised factory tours on then but KTM NZ put me in touch with the NZ/Oz sales manager who gave me a personal tour. Say Hi to the babes in the exhaust shop for me - it was like the Tui ad in there but with a few more clothes on cos they were welding :msn-wink:

They are both attending. Will be a good battle between the two.

Chris is currently enjoying the Scottish summer and doing the Scottish 6 Day. He's posted up about the first couple of days, where he mentions the weather lol (and the mad folk eating ice creams). www.birchy.co.nz
