Have a look on sky sport now guys race 2 is on. Andrew Stroud is racing a local bike and finished quite well in the first race and not doing too bad so far.
Cheers

Be interesting to see if the rain and change of tyres change the positions around a bit.

Interesting that Corser's lap record on the Ducati from 1999 still stands by the look of it.

Well done Andrew particularly in the second race.

that boy needs to break into the big time , he polite , well spoken , the machine at wanganui was well set up, and for andrew to make ( I heard 8th ) in the rain on an basically unsupported bike was ,,,impressive ,,, credit to the team ( Ray Clees ?? mechanic??

Anyway top stuff

It was a good article, - would have liked to see more about the logistics and costs involved as well as any problems - it helps being able to see the big picture.

Also, has Andrew S. done the California Superbike school yet ? I suspect many of the top riders have.

You guys do remember that Andrew was the US Formula Xtreme champion riding the Erion Fireblade don't you?

Here's the 1997 results http://www.amaproracing.com/97rr/rrlasveg.html when Andrew finished the year with 7 wins.

What a great article. 8th in the second half of the second race in the rain- awesome stuff, especially considering the spec of his bike. I hope they can get the funds together to have a decent nudge at SBK next year. Man it would be good to see a kiwi in there again!

The superbike school doesnt just teach riding skills as far as I understand it - it teaches professional race craft (at a different level from what they teach to the public). You can usually tell folks who have attended, because of their riding style and the fact they seem to get better all of a sudden.

There was mention during the last WSB races, in the pre/post race commentary by Dale Stephens, that Andrew may be racing in a couple of the European rounds this season.

My very clear understanding is that he won't be doing any more racing overseas this season.

I heard that he was going to do assen and one of the other european rounds and I am pretty sure that was from him while he was being interviewed on tv.

I spoke with him on Friday and he said he wouldn't be doing any WSB overseas this year (apart from Phillip Island earlier in the season where he went over)

Yep ok, that would be right then. I am pretty sure I heard him say it on murray deakers talkback show on tv just after he won the enduro at puke. Things must have changed since then.
