Can somebody please explain to me the difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke cans? I am toying with the idea of replacing the cans on my 250 zeal and wonder if i need to be putting on a special sort or whether they are all much of a muchness at the lower financial end.

Is the Zeal a 2 stroker?
I made a straight through for a 50cc 2 stroke, pretty feckin loud (not abusively so), which is good cos cagers can hear the engine as its louder than the horn, which is crap anyway.
If its a 2 stroke then you'll want some sort of baffle anyway, but there's got to be a reasonably inexpensive way. I thought 4 stroke mufflers were more involved with the baffle arrangement, coule be wrong.

Zeal's a four stroke. Not sure why the two smoker connection.
Two smoker mufflers are complex designs , need to be designed to produce the right resonant gas flow. Four stroke cans are just a bit of pipe. (except for mega's)

Connection made.
The 50cc we have has an expansion chamber so the effective resonance is over before the straight through can on the end, (which could be put on a 4 stroke) Change it to something that suits your bike, back pressure etc...so you dont have to mess with jetting etc... unless you want to of course, in a quest for more power.
