I have previously reported on my misadventures in Santoft Flu - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=55128
I have just returned to work after a further misadventure at the Santoft enduro 2 weeks ago and feel obliged to report this latest incident.

Nice day, bike running well, feeling fit, keeping nice pace open her up on the beach section then splat. From all accounts the bike (and me) cartwheeled quite spectaculary but I remember none of it - just a couple of guys moving me up the beach above the high tide mark. Get looked after by a couple of fellow riders in the know and a helicopter was ordered for me to be transported to Hospital.

Body damage = smashed face, internal injuries (kidney leaking blood) bruised forearm, numb shoulders and general feeling of unwellbeing. 5 days in hospital - got to self medicate on Morphine too but up and about after 3 days. Didn't enjoy the catheter thing though.

Bike damage = broken headlight shroud and left side number board and rear fender which was brand new after damaging the original at Tarawera 100. Electric start doesn't want to know but bike started after 57 kicks.

I wish to request that the Santoft enduro be permanently cancelled so I wont be silly enough to ever compete at this event again in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Attached pic of my face and the beach somewhere near the crash (2008 enduro)

bugger finn. I probably didn't get a pic of ya then? what section was that?
1st? we did the trail ride the weekend after and that sand on the beach was a bit crazy... you could jump on the natural rises made by the surf but the sand kept changing in patches. i had a real near miss tank slapper in the soft stuff.

How long were ya out for?
