Anyone know of any good webmail hosting sites???? I'm finding that my current webmail service is just not cutting it. :spanking:
I'm not really a techco, but want a webmail service that I can
- run 3 or 4 email addresses
- has email forwarding
- can send emails from any of the email addresses that I own
- user friendly for non techco type peps like meeee
:niceone::doctor::mobile::clap::rolleyes:

Seconded, Gmail. Free, loads of storage, great for searching, good filters, excellent anti-spam, IMAP support, built in format readers (pdf, word, excel, etc), pulls mail in from other accounts and you can send as any account you own.
If you've got your own domain name then look no further than
http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html

Another vote for GMail. Best of all it has POP client access and any email you send from browser interface is copied to your POP client and any you send from your POP client is copied to the GMail outbox too so you always have access to all emails you've sent & received (provided you set your POP client to not delete messages).
About the only thing I don't like is the inability to turn off the "conversation" feature which groups messages with the same subject, but even that can be useful and the search function is so efficient anyway I can see past this minor issue.

Sounds like you need to befriend a nice Linux lad who can whip you up some custom majic without all the technical blabber. Why exactly is your current provider not working out?
Gmail is fine, but for non-tech people it will take you a month to learn, unless said techie sets it all up for you.

Wow.... Gmail that good eh??? The only thing is that the ole monday to Friday blocks gmail, boooo!!!!:angry2::sweatdrop:crybaby: If you have gmail can I still use my existing email address? It doesn't end in "XXX@gmail.com" it's more like "ange@mybusinessname.co.nz" :eek5:
Ok...... sooooooooooo ....."Linux - POP - interface" these all sound kind of familiar but what do it all meeeeeeeeean????? :bash:
So I'm on webmail run by Domains4less at the moment... and find that I'm not getting all emails come through. It's kind-a slow to search for emails and the more emails I have the longer it takes to work.....
.... any suggestions?

Why are you using webmail anyway? Most webmail is horribly slow.

You should be able to have your email@mybusinessname.co.nz forwarded to your gmail account.
You can get google apps to do that directly and for free (http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/group/index.html) and this is what I do. FWIW it would probably be much easier to get the domain through google as well - $10/year.
Failing that, I've been using a slightly bizarre domain registration company (http://www.gandi.net/) for a number of years now and they offer free webmail (http://www.gandi.net/domain/mail). Maybe look at them? Be warned, they are slightly bizarre.

Because he wants to get his personal email from work.

Ok ok.... I think I starting to see the light..... Thanks Dave and Steve!!!
Yup have tried to sort ma woe's with ma provider.... to no real solution, hence the reason I'm asking around.
What's the support like with Gmail? Cause once I'm set up I'll be fine and dandy.... just need them to talk me through.... probably the reason I've stayed with current provider so long.... worried I'll get something worse or can't set it up.
Ok, so how "bizzare" are we talking with this webmail?

Think they meant the 'work' e-mail bud, and many companies block gmail for reasons of productivity and/or security reasons.
Right or wrong- think that's the case here

Or else, just register with gmail and start using it and ask questions in this thread.

At present it looks like you are on a paid webmail server for your domain name...
It depends on what you want and how much you are will to pay... the free ones mentioned are ok, but really they don't look good when for a business, you are relying on a free service that that may have 1000's of other accounts and can cause the server slow and be sluggish and be unreliable, you are more open to the accounts being hacked
Personally if it is for a business I would look at something like
http://www.net24.co.nz/email_hosting.php?referer=1stdomains
I have my domain name with them and our work uses them we have nothing to complain about ;)

You should be able to transfer your domain name... but I suggest that you email them and or even give them a ring and ask away the questions you have...

Yeah, do that. If it's all going to make your brain hurt, just pay a few bucks a month and be done with it. You want someone with a phone number :)
