I've just bought a 2008 one of these for the princely sum of $900 (+$150 to get it up here), with 1100km on the clock...It looks to be a Chinese cross between a Honda SS50 and a CG125.
Apparently does 85km/h...but if I get any better than 65 I'll be very happy, 4 speed with a proper clutch. Does anyone know anything about these, or if I've made the mistake of my life?

Well, at $900, who cares?!?! If it runs for the next 4 months, you'll have saved its cost in petrol and parking! :) Woohoo!!!
Congrats!

Pretty good fun to be honest 4 speed 'rotary' gearbox has taken a bit of getting used to. (Down for 1st, down for 2nd, down for 3rd, down for 4th, down again would take you to neutral, then to 1st etc. Up takes to back the other way. Top speed on the flat so far is an indicated 105km/h -> GPS verified as 81.4 km/h so the speedo is a little optimistic
50km/L so far with thrashing it everywhere!
The front brakes, suspension and tyres are primitive at best, but with no warrants changes can be made without needing certification...
Once upon a time I had a road legal goped, 37 km/h on 4" wheels and no suspension is exciting...
