Im wondering how much RIDE time you guys have under your belt
This isn't a question about age just how many years actually riding bikes you have. I know a bunch of you rode in your Yoof then took a break from it. Some have just found the joys of bikes some have never stopped riding.
Me I started riding at 8 on a truetest thingee (like a pitbike but cruder) Then road riding at er actually 14
so Ive been riding offroad, racing, commuting, travelling on a bike for 35 years
Im sure this has been done before but anyhooo.

Motorcycle license on the day I turned 16 (on a borrowed step-thru). My parents had a policy of no license until you turn 16.
Figure in a year of hooning around earlier without a license on friends bikes, that makes 29 glorious years of riding.
Looking forward to the next 29.

25 years road riding with 1 or 2 years not riding due to having babies...but I never sold my bikes. Before the age of 15 I rode any farm/dirt bike I could get my hands on.

Well, it depends on how you define it.
There is a difference of quite a few years between the two extremes of the cycle of
Riding two wheeled power vehicles around back yard
Riding two wheeled power vehicle of road in flat defiance of Dad's orders not to (said vehicle being impounded by Dad as a result , he was on to vehicle confiscation half a century before the gubbermint)
Riding two wheeled vehicle on public road at illegal age when Dad wasn't looking
Riding two wheeled vehicle on public road at legal age but without licence, with Dad's tacit assent ("Don't come bleating to me when you cop a fine"
Riding two wheeled vehicle on road legally with licence
About 46 years at one end, 55 years odd at the other. Less maybe two years in all in my foolish youff when I was temporarily seduced by cars and couldn't afford both
Got to admit though that there were periods once upon a time when I wouldn't have knocked up more than maybe 1000 km in the year.

from 13yo until now. Have had times where no road bike, but speedway and dirtbikes have been there. At times weeks have gone w/o being on the bike, but then at other times as I have travelled with a bike there might have been 12 hours riding in a day.
So 40 years or there about.

2 year 6 months for me.
And how far I have come in the learning curve has been extreme. I have gone from not having a clue what to do and being shit scared, to having some form of idea on how to ride and being scared. And I have loved every last minute of it and I look forward to thousands more and learning shitloads more!!

Erm, lets see, if you take 25 years from last century and add 9 from this that would be 34 years I suppose.
I have my moments when I don't understand why I still do it, when I'm cold and wet and a long way from home but then I remember , It's that one thing again.

I first got into road riding about ten years ago. I didn't know any other riders, so figured out the whole process my self. I initially got two friends to get their licences with me. One piked out after completing the BHS. The other got his learners licence, but never bothered to buy a bike.
After about 2 years of riding I had an accident. I was married and starting a family, so the insurance money went towards other things that were needed for the family. Plus the wife was dead set against me ever getting on a bike again.
I am now happily divorced, and returned to riding about 12 months ago.

Nearly 40 years for me.I had my first bike for 6 months - and ever since I've never had just one bike.Sometimes I had bikes only and they were used everyday, sometimes I only had off road bikes, sometimes my bikes were not going - but there has always been bikes to ride or work on non stop for 40 years.
I got my first bike so I could get to work at 16 - I would have preferred a MkI Zephyr, but Mum said I had to have a motorcycle. Thanks Mum......

Owned motorcycles from 1982 until 1992, then met my ex.
Gave up bikes for love *sigh* in 1992. :pinch:
Split up in 2001. Got back into bikes in 2003.
So that's 15 years of nearly daily riding, and 30 years since I rode my first one.

8 through to 13 on a Piwi 50, farm bikes and a mates KX80, then 15 as soon as I could get me license on through until I was 24, then again at 30 through till now.
so 5 + 9 + 10... 24 years give or take.
Pretty much been my sole mode of transport too for the last two periods of riding. All good fun!

just goes to show that the Statistic's are run by the govt & they put in the figures that suit them & acc the best
i've just filled out a Q & A for Otago Uni about my accident (fell off my bike in drive way) broke my leg & ankle two of the Q's were how long have you been riding & how many k's a year do you do on road,
legally for 36 years & over the past 4 years any where from 55 to 65k & this year have already done 53k & there are people out there who do more
