I am interested in getting rid of the great big hunk of metal called a catalytic converter underneath my R6 and replacing it with a straight pipe. I believe the bike will run to lean with this modification and need to have the fueling adjusted. Is there someone in Wellington who can do that kind of tuning work?

No, it is as it came from the factory.

by looks of teka tune side, you they can remap the r6 06-07, so i don't think the 08-09 be any different.

So this means, no need for an aftermarket unit like a pc3, i would give wellington motorcycles a ring, i belive they do teka tuneing in wellington. unsure who else does.

Thanks for that.

can't confirm any of that since i don't know shit about r6's, or dealers in wellington. but wellington motorcycles would know more if they can retune them or not with there unit.

I think as long as you maintain the O2 sensor you should be ok.

check www.r6-forum.com no doubt someone has done it before!

You don't need the 02 sensor. Take it off. Yes the bike does run lean after you gut the cats, a dyno fixes that though although have a look into what Cajun recommended. It will make your bike sound RAD and add a bit of top end too. You might loose a bit of bottom end, but then on a bike like the R6 that doesnt really matter does it. Have fun.

Dyno tuning in Wellington is either @ Wellington Motorcycles where the rear wheel is off the ramp or @ Motomart in Lower Hutt where the rear wheel is on the ramp. Not sure what the diff is.. probably price :)
