Since my trusty ole Tiger clocked over 100,000kms some time ago I have been thinking about if I should replace it and if so what with. Well after a bit of testing of alternatives and much thought I came to the conclusion that the only replacement for an old Tiger is a new one. But the new Tigers, while very nice, dont have the 19" front wheel for the gravel roads and the pillion seat was too tall for the pillions liking and well, long story short I figured there is still plently of life left in the old Tiger yet so I am going to keep it.

So instead I went and bought a new (well 08) Triumph Bonneville.:woohoo:
I have always had a soft spot for the Bonnie, and this will be my day to day town/commuter bike, while the Tiger will be kept for tours and rallies.

Nice ride mate. Well done. I've been keen on getting one for a toy for a while now, still might. Something a bit different to the missile which is just painful to ride for more than a tankfull.

I rode it past your house before, next time I'll come down your driveway (but not your garage!) :)

Its got 2000km on the clock and definetly no oil leaks. And did I mention its fuel injected too?

Good on you Sels, No way that you needed to get rid of your Tiger even at 100,000ks. Congratulations on your new ride too as you can't go wrong on a bonnie, as no doubt Gareth has told you.lol Look forward to seeing your new ride when I get up that way sometime soon I hope.:niceone:

Wont be new and shiney by the time March rolls around bro. Anyway, that's the perfect excuse for treating it like a taste-test. Do it Dougie.

Yep its first reg is 10/08. And it has carb bodies with bugger all inside, they just link the airbox and the pots. Cunningly keeps things looking right while fuel injection does the bizzo:cool:

Yeah. I've had a few Jap bikes, then a German one then on to the Brits. But once you own a Triumph its hard to switch to anything else:msn-wink:

My understanding is The air injection re-circulates exhaust gasses and makes them hotter and makes the pipes bluer.

This stops it

AI kit looks sweet. In saying that, para rubber should have should have suitable bungs/caps, and use allen head bolts (or flanged bolts) cut to length (if unavailable in that length),anti-seize and a couple of copper washers should do the trick too.

Those with 08 and later may want to read-

Ok, I thought it was clean air passed in post exhaust valves to help ignite unburnt gases?
Either way, I'm glad I don't have that shite to deal with!

You're probably closer than me. I wasn't really paying attention - but I do know fo' sure the kit stops the pipes going as blue.

Thanks for the info Dave and Bonez, I shall follow up with a bit more research. A quick browse on the forums has a variety of opinions (funny that)
I dont mind a bit of blue on the pipes - shows the thing is ridden and not just for looking at, but I wouldnt want it to get excessive
