Hyosung GT250 luggage?

Hi all, I'm new to biking but want to do some short weekend trips on my 2006 Hyosung Comet GT250. Would like some suggestions for luggage / racks etc - what's going to work well?

Hi Squirrel. Welcome to KB and to motorcycling.

I have a GT250R and have only just bought a pack rack after owning it for 18 months. Previously, when I have gone away, I have used a backpack. This took me some getting used to, but now I don't even know I have one on. In fact, when I do go riding without a backpack, I feel 'naked'! At first, I didn't put much in the back pack, but loaded it up gradually until I had it full of luggage.

i just put a backpack on my backseat and put the straps around the little handles you use to put the bike on its centerstand... i dont know if the hyos have that...

You can do a lot with bungee cords and cargo nets. Get yourself some different length bungee cords and have a play tieing your tent, bedroll, and sleeping bag onto the pillion seat area, and then get yourself a good sized backpack.

I took my daughter on a bike camping trip, and she loved it.

Take great care pulling bungees on tight, or removing them, coz the if they get away on you the damn things will loop around at lightspeed and hook yer fucken eye right out. I always leave my helmet on and visor down when rigging bungees - already had one very close call - graze on face near eye.

I've got a pack rack on mine and a couple of rack bags plus a tank bag. It is incredible how much you can fit in those things. I wouldn't own a bike without a pack rack now.

The Hyosung has a nice couple of rails under the seat and about twenty little posts that look like they're meant for hooking things on to.

I used a tank bag and a back pack. Always wanted a pack rack though but they were a bit expensive for my liking.

Yeah pack racks aren't cheap - $350 ish or more.

A simple backpack from the whorehouse for $35, and some $5 bungy cords work well, and are a tenth of the price.

Hey mate.

I've just bought a bike exactly like yours. I went my local bike shop Motrrad in Wellington and they quoted me $258.00 for the whole deal.

You're not wrong when you say they ain't cheap! The rack can wait. I must take up the advice of buying some bungy.
