Why is it my youtube sucks?

It never seems to fully download clips and is slow as a wet week!

Do other people have issues?

I use Real Player 11 which lets me download the clips to my hard drive.

Your speed depends upon your connection speed. It also depends upon where the clip is being hosted and also how busy that server is.

Real Audio player is good and lets you keep and store your downloads.

Broadband is the answer ... that or more beer ....

More beer does not make it faster ... but after a few ... who cares how long it takes.

I have broadband, can download 700mb "text files" in under two hours, and generally 1.5Mbs ...... but youtube sucks! Have to let anything buffer for a long time and then a lot of the movies don't finish.

Your issue is probably that you can't download at a consistent rate. Your probably finding the video keeps stalling. This is known as jitter.

I find You Tube works great for me most of the time.

I use Firefox, just upgraded to 3.5.2 , noted that now with multiple tabs open the mouse wheel no longer sweeps the tabs left and right when hovering over them.... irritating!

I have to agree here - I got rid of Real Player years ago...bastard of a thing.

ISP's throttle the speed to certain sites, usually in peak hours, but sometimes all day. Youtube is a prime example.

What cunts.

I did note that Vimeo or something that Beyond put a video up on was able to stream rather happily.

Real Player works for me.

What so you use to download web videos? Some web browsers have it built in, and there are websites that will send you the video as a file if you give it the ID of the video. Anything but god awful realplayer.
