Hi there, I did a quick search but couldn't find what I was after so sorry if this is a common question.

Where can I get my bike dyno'd, and roughly how much will it set me back?

Anyone know good places to do some dyno tuning in Christchurch?

I have a variable ignition and want to get it done properly.

Just a follow up post.

Went to Triple Zee in Manurewa for a Dyno and was more than impressed with the service and results. The guy (John) is a friendly guy and seems to know what he's talking about and would highly recommend him to anyone wanting a dyno or tune.

Cost me $120 for a series of diagnostic runs. Good value for what I got out of it - plus I know how much BHP my little bike makes!

Don't laugh but from what he was saying it's pretty good for a 250 :headbang:

What is your bike? Naked CBR?

jetboy

Yeah CBR250RR (MC22 model) as per my profile pic - but won't be naked for long as I just bought a mint fairing kit for it

that's pretty respectable for a 250 - pretty much what I expected out of a CBR. The last dyno chart I saw for an MC22 was from Red Baron's dyno and I believe it was bout the same (36 or 37hp), can't remember what speed it was doing but it was up around the 200kph mark - to bad about wind resistance in the real world huh!

I wonder what my bandit would get after 28k's through the engine :punk:

John at Triple Zee is very good, and a great help.

Had my KTM in to him for tuning, unfortunately, some compatibility issues between Tuneboy software and factory software, but he's knowledgable and helpful nonetheless.

I found a cheap painted and stickered factory-body-style kit which I am picking up tomorrow :woohoo: and will definitely post up pics when its on (probably weekend). I was thinking Tyga kits but the front looks a bit too "alien" for me, plus a full painted kit costs like 4x as much as I got this kit for!

The paint job almost looks american as it has blue and red stripes and white stars everywhere.

This gratification is worth the caning your bike took while being tested?
I've had two bikes suffer catastrophic failure immediately after a dyno run.
My last resort - only if we can't get it right without one.

a dyno is way less intense than my epic riding style

Fair enuough Big Dave, but I wanted one to diagnose the problem I was having. I wouldn't take the bike to a dyno for the hell of it!
