So 50 years since the first one rolled off the production line.

Any one else heading to Nelson for the festivities?

We have a '65 Morris Mini Minor that is more "munter" than "minter" with a massive 850cc engine, that our son and I will be taking South just for the occasion.
We are hoping it makes the distance - more to the point makes the distance there and back.
Will be a bit of an adventure and Father / Son bonding time either way.

I've got a German Mini (my second of those), but I owned an 850, and a 1275GT back in the day.

Closest thing to a motorbicycle you can buy.

Our Son had an '77 1100 Clubman that he took on the North Island part of the Rusty Nuts Mini's Return ride, but has since sold it and has a 1275 GT under restoration that he was hoping to get sorted for the 50th Anniversary trip but ran out of time.
