IMO - The DRs are excellent machines. It just takes a while to get used back used to the slower balance and momentum of road bikes again.

Beginners adv bike my arse - I'd happily still own one! Mongrel's Adv bike perhaps? But yeah, not a road bike (despire doing the DB1k on it!) :Punk: Good luck with it man.

I'd really like to have a go at a 3-hour cross country on one.
See how it stacks up to the current cross country weapon.

That would be taking the piss a bit on a 10000 km bike.
Actualy, I ran out of time to do all that.

Trail riding I could keep up with the big boys for a while. Never quite got the suspension set up properly for my height. They were floating over the rough stuff while I was doing a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson. Plenty of grunt though.:2guns:

Get it into singletrack forest work and it becomes very heavy very quickly - you hang out for the straights and roads to rest up! like Bart said though, never an issue with torque, just inertia.

My beastie of course.
250cc 4 stroke, UniCam 4 valve head...
Pretty much the same as any of the CRF250's...

OK, a few more goodies thrown in.
Road wheels
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Dual-purpose/auction-237305103.htm
They don't fit the 650.
I bought them off a guy who raced a DRZ400 (not this bike). Tyres are shit so I never really used them.

Road wheels gone. Price dropped to 6k.
Getting sick of it taking up shed space.

Do I hear $5700..............anyone.
And no, I don't want to trade. I've had 4 offers now for trades. Obviously the bike market has slowed down a lot lately.
