Nice bike there rebyl. My cousin has a 05` i think. Anyways he got hit:shit: 3weeks ago by some ol 74yr duck out drivn on a sunday that lives locally (apparently it aint her 1st bike hit either, so the cops told us) she drove straight thru her `giveway`..my cousin had right of way, luckily he wasnt hurt bad, few grazes on his back with internal back bruising. He was wearing 2 layers of leathers. As for his ride - munted front mudguard, twisted front wheel and smashed headlight- not 2 bad. She is paying repairs via her insurer-

Welcome. I love the Valkyrie. Was lucky enough to ride the demo model up the Thames coast when they first came out. Beautiful.

Taumarunui eh? We'll be staying there friday and sat 25 and 26th sept as our base for the 42 traverse and fishers track ride. Maybe you can suggest the best eatery and pubbery for us?

Rubbish! You know lots of people who have ridden that long... I think you may be surprised at the average age of KB members!

I met a lovely couple in their 80s recently. She has had to give up riding on the back because of her arthritis, but he still rides very happily.

The key is treating every body else on the road like they want to kill you!

Welcome rebyl and there is heaps of us more "experienced" riders on kb.We are the ones who don't ride across the Fairfield Bridge on the railings.

Thanks for the Welcome...I will try and behave....Anthrax if you havn't already done the 42nd you will love it. Have hunted and ridden horses through there, there are some great side tracks and if you can try to fit in a side trip to the 10 man hut and the mud track... I warn you it is not for the faint hearted. I once got a King Quad bogged and the only thing of the bike you coud see was part of the handlebars.
The Alphine Inn/Taumarunui Hotel is a good place to have a feed and beer most of the service clubs are within walking distance also...RSA about 100 metres and the Cosy Club about 200 metres. For something different in the food line try the Railway Cart at the South end of town.
Hope you enjoy
