Evening all!

I'm down here in Christchurch and I'm looking at a bike in Auckland on Trademe. Is there any organisation that checks out bikes for you like the AA do for cars. Don't want to get all the way up there and find its a shitbox!

Carver will test it out for you .................... it might not be much use after however. You'll at least need new fork seals and a rear tyre.<_<

Maybe try that Frosty chap. :sunny:

get the bike to be and Ill do like an AA inspection on t for you.
If you want the engine PROPPERLY checked out then you need to pay a bike shop.
My inspection engine wise is more--does it all work from riding it and does it make funny noises.
I also check TYRE PRESSURES--aye mully???

I refuse to comment on the grounds that I'm trying to forget about that.

Apparently, low pressures heat the tyres quicker and give you better grip - I was sacrificing wear for grip.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it. I know where you live, Frosty.......

Nahh --depends how much the guy wants to sell it---Ive done two inspections for KBers on tard me auction bikes. The seller brings it to me and I inspect it--or a bike shop etc.
Incidently _SHAUN Harris does FULL prepurchase inspections when hes in auckland

Ye George can do a prepurchase check for you. Don't think AA knows much about bikes but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I don't know the bike but my impression is; It's been repaired and painted, no WOF, rego on hold, and the last person who bought it is now selling it within weeks ??? They have a plausible reason but I wouldn't take the chance with bikes like that

My guess is it's been raced as well

there's plenty of them in better shape less risk for sale
Hope that's helpful
