They've made this (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/8203120.stm)in Wales. Pretty good too.

We could do with something like that being shown to people here.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbFJWDqc0C4&feature=related) is the follow up to it.

Curiously... it's been against the law in the UK to use your phone while driving for a few years. It hasn't made any difference.

edit.. i did do a search to see if it's already been posted.. couldn't find anything.

As previously discussed - statistics in this case don't give an accurate reflection.

I can tell you from personal experience that it made a BIG difference in Australia.

It appears to me that far more car drivers are now using their phone for calls and also sending txt messages whilst driving as a result of being informed that it will not be illegal until November.

it's made a huge difference in the UK not having numpties txt/talk on mobiles.... to say otherwise shows you have never lived/driven/ridden in a populated city..

Yes, I have. Last time I was there, it was about one in three was on the phone.
Having the law has made no difference. There are barely any police on the roads there now they have speed cameras.

The biggest difference I notice trans-tasman now are more issues of courtesy - which normally but not always implies safety I guess.

Asshats who are too busy on the phone to use an indicator in a roundabout. Not likely to kill me but, 'you arsehole'.
