My Technics Powerskin boots around the $300 mark have been falling apart since I bought them new. Won't go there again.

Near eighteen months in the Gaernes now...all good thus far. Don't leak and zips still work. Survived the bike falling on them (with my foot in there as well). I even cleaned them once!!

Am looking at the tech3's for about 399, i read they have a special ankle brace system, which would be good for my broken foot, when it heals!

Yeah the primes seem like they could be an option for that price

I had $600 Sidi's that started falling apart after about 3 years. But damn they were good safe boots and comfortable as hell.
I recently bought Axo Primes...I wish I didnt. Iv suffered swollen ankles twice and recently broke my ankle and foot! They dont offer enough protection as far as im concerned. O and the buckles are crap! I keep a hammer with me for hammering the buckles closed otherwise they pop open every 5 minutes.
I will go back to Sidi or might try Alpinestar, tech 10's even, when it comes to protection, I want the best.

I got a pair of Goretex sidi boots for less than 4 hundy. Comfy as slippers, grippy sole, very solid leather & bracing, waterproof to the tops..
Had a pair of Sidi's in uk, lasted years of trail riding & scottish winters.

I considered Tech 10's and was very close to buying them, glad I didnt. Have a look into the new SG10's. Very good price, they have 5star reviews.

+1 on the SG10's, they are a bit heavier, but jeez they are tough & the sole wear is amazing, I'd heard the boot wears out before the sole & it sure looks that way, better than Tech 8's or Sidi Crossfires in that regard ( All three are good boots from what I can tell ).

sidi crosfirres are very comfy and I can walk and run in them replacement soles are only 40 bucks and take 20 min to change would be a 5min job if you did it before the soles and secureing pins were absolutly rooted
