I got to have a bash on a mates SV650 Protwin at round 4.
I also raced the RG but went totally shithouse on it.
I've kind of lost my Mojo a bit at the moment so it was all a bit scary.
Jumping off an RG150 and onto an SV with some Ohlins bits on it was quite a jump.
I was intimidated by all the new sensations: Power, Brakes, Grip, Feedback etc...
Shit it was fun, I didn't concentrate on results much, (They were shit anyway) it took all my brain just to think about learing the new bike.
It really threw me at first, feeling what the bike was doing though the bars rather than just sitting on it like the RG. It was much more phisical with more acceleration and braking forces making it much harder work than I'm used to.
I was surprised at how forgiving it was to ride and how much it felt like cheating against the 400's and 2 strokes that were near me (at the back).
It had the new Michelin power one or whatever it's called rubber on it and I was amazed at the grip available, there may be somthing too this newfangled radial technology. I was pushing incrementally harder (not my bike!) and still didn't even get close to running out of grip.
I finished the day with a 2.15.xx on the SV which I wasn't all that happy with until scracha told me how it compared to his first times on the long track, then I was stoked.
It was bloody good fun to ride, the F3 feild was alot more agressive and packed than a typical streetstock grid which was partly intimidating but mostly Very Very fun.
Cheers to Drew (the younger) for the bike loan, Hells, Deano and all the Marshalls VMCC etc who make it happen!

Hahaha. You are fucked now. Excellent skills Malc and you did a marvelous job on somebody elses bike, never having ridden it before. I really hope you get an opportunity to do more of this F3 malarky. I'm sure you will do well. Just stay the hell out of Supersport.

HAHA!
I knew you were lurking waiting for me to write about my race weekend!
Yeah, its got me interested! (I was going to get into the faster bikes anyway)
It will hvae to be the VFR untill funds allow otherwise.
Even if I win the lotto and got a Supersport bike you won't have to worry until I get my Mojo back!

Yeah, Its well worth really mastering the RG first. (Not that I have)
Best to learn on the cheap and then step up when you can make the most of the more expensive gear.
But it is alot of fun!

Well done on a succesful day out on the SV bro.
You did seem a little overwheelmed by everything.
Looking forward to seeing you eventually upgrade from the tempartmential 150's!
-Kyle (Catch ya around mate, might invite myself over sometime ;) ).

I've kind of lost my Mojo a bit at the moment so it was all a bit scary.
Considering that you were almost killed by a car on the road only a month ago and then having to basically sit out the last 2 rounds is likely to have helped caused your mojo loss!!
I thought you looked damn good. By the 2nd pro twin race you looked really comfortable, in fact I reckon I could see a smile... ;)

Yep!
Thats me trying to keep up with Tash on WarrenW's 400.
It was great to tussle with her again as we had epic battles on the streetstocks last year.

You are totally styling in the sweeper in that photo - good stuff. Knew you would be ruined for streetstock after the taste of a pro twin.

Way to go bro, hope you can get something bigger soon, and get your head round it.
By the way, the SV still has it's damper rods in the front, they just do less.

Yeah, I figured the emulators kind of make it not a REAL damper rod setup. (i.e not shit!)

Sooo good with better suspension though it was weird not having to release the brake a wee bit on turn one to minimise the effect of the forks bottoming out like I have to on my VFR!
