Customers view the special B-2 Spirit motorcycle at the Base Exchange Aug. 12 at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. The bike was built by Orange County Choppers of Newburgh, N.Y., to commemorate the anniversary of the first flight of the B-2.
I thought it was a kiddies toy at first glance.

That really sucks! I hope they're not proud of their work - it looks like it was based on some cheap plastic Chinese kid's toy.

Agreed- worst effort ever by OCC- epic fail

These theme bikes are shit- rather watch Biker build off- less tantrums too ;)

When I think of B2 Stealth Bomber, I think of technology !!
When I think of OCC chopper, I think of prehistoric !!

When your stuff is all form over function, loosing form is a massive loss.

That really is an ugly bike.
They have fallen along way from the black widow bike!

red675
27th August 2009, 16:25
and of course if your were going to build a Stealth bike you'd use a 100decibel Harley engine wouldn't you ?

red675
27th August 2009, 16:27
100 decibels being the mechanical noise from the engine before you overlay whatever the exhaust is capable of adding to the plot

Big Dave

Good that they found an appropriate location to display it though.

I suspect that the whole thing is a plastic model.

The chain doesn't look real (suprised it doesn't have a belt).

There must be cheaper ways of looking a complete tit.

Acquiring episode now. Should be good for a laugh.

They seemed to have moved away from that kind of thing.

The first few series seemed more often than about making a bike that looked like a space shuttle, a fire engine, an apache (helicopter) etc.

The later series seemed more about incorporating elements of the theme, into a bike. That made for much better bikes.

That ugly B2 thing seems a throw-back.

Uh huh.

I quite like choppers but find that many of the bikes that OCC build look like they should be ridden in parades only.

Paint it green and it's a fucking Thunderbird 2 theme bike.

OCC need to ease off the cheese and get back to basics.

I've season 1 & 2 - I like the show but some of the bikes are 'suspect' with too much form not enough function.

I liked the episode when senior made a old school chop - very cool.

The problem is they all get popped out out the same OCC mould - it would be nice to see 10 degrees of rake pulled in etc

Makes for good TV.

That one in post one .......:lol::lol::lol:

What a pile of tasteless crap.

However, some stelth tchnology would come in handy on a real road-going bike, would it not? I'm sure it's possible...

I've seen quite a few of their bikes at close range when we visited the OCC shop. The were, as much as I hate to say it, beautifully finished (that'll be Rick's doing - and a gifted painter).

Wouldn't mind betting we see the OCC boys going bankrupt given the present US economic climate. Who the f'k is going to buy one of these overpriced jokes these days?

The US market is huge, particularly the upper end of its motorcycle market. A niche builder for whom demand exceeds supply would need to do something pretty darned stupid to fail as a business. I would be interested to know what OCC gets paid for its arrangement with the Discovery Channel.

Ask Picasso. He was supposed to be a good painter but in my eye his work is shite. The beholder and all that. I think that bike is crap, but who am I?

I would imagine that Yanks being what/who they are, and the money that they have, OCC will be around for a while yet. Catering to the rich and famous whackos is their forte` and there's one or two of them Stateside.

That's not to say that all US bikes are naff, far from it, and let's not forget that they build bikes for different roads and applications. Personally I like things that come from Suckerpunch Sally's and there's a lot in Oz that rates highly. Shame about bike week in Brizzy this year.

Totally agree. Much prefer the sort of bikes you'll find in The Horse than these rolling Christmas trees. I was just surprised that close up the OCC bikes are actually really well finished. Still wouldn't f'kin' ride one...

I like them as art.

As the evolution of the Rat Fink.

Big Daddy and Von Dutch and the Pinstripers of Kustom Kultcha blurring the boundaries of art, sculpture, metalwork, engineering and the internal combustion engine.

I like Picasso too and Dali and Matisse.

Matisse?

How did it feel?

Well - the Picasso that I thought was a motorcycle was actually a Madam from the West Bank and that turned out OK.

The Dali went a bit soft, then melted and ran late.

Matisse was a mongrel.

This would be one of the most discussed (mostly derided) vehicles on the net over the last 12 months.

Job Done OCC.

Only if they were contracted to build a shit horrible bike that no one liked, Otherwise its the fail bike, as proven by the discussion surrounding it.

I believe the USAF like it. They thought highly enough to install it in a supermarket.

It's a long running TV show and the bikes are props. Wish it was me.

Because you don't already have a dream job?

Just had a thought, And just because I'm a good guy.

I'm willing to take over for you at the magazine while you go to America and chase television stardom.

In the event that you fail ( I have huge faith in ya Dave) and you return to NZ you can have my old job with the demolition company.
