View Full Version : My BIG UPS to...thread

Well it all starting with me making a rather silly mistake which saw me and my not so pride and joy tumbling down the road at near on 200kph, a number of events followed and a number of people were involved in helping me, making fun of me, or hooking me up with shit, so i like to take this chance to thank the follwing:
MidLifeCrisis & Gazza - For cutting your ride short to go home get a trailer and take my sorry arse and what was left of the TL back home, took me a while to go to the hospital even though my thumb was not where it usually was, bike comes first ya know. And was glad to see that MLC went and brought a set of leathers after seeing how lightly i got off in my off. :niceone:
Death INC - For saying "thats the most impressive crash i've seen for a while" and "i wouldn't of wheelie off that crest", means a lot man :niceone:
All the peeps on that ride - Two Smoker, 6Chris6, Draco etc, Cheers for the help.
Quasi - For the reading material while i was in hospital  and then taking me to manfeild so i could find out what a cock i was for crashing just before my most anticpated day for quite sometime. Would've been fine if i crashed after the track day.
Spudchucka - for the radiator, the very first part i brought towards the rebuild, cheers mate.
Saul - For the front brake, master cylinder etc, cher bro. See you on the road soon....... finally huh.
To all the members offering help pulling the TL apart and putting it back together, Firefight and Paps to name a few.
To Atomic Wreckers on the shore for having a god deal of parts i needed.
Even bigger ups to Victorian Bike Wreckers in Oz for having the parts i needed and couldn't find anywhere in NZ, namely, clip-on, header pipe, and a few other bits, excellent service and prices just as competive as if buying in NZ, i would recomend these guys to anyone.
Hoon - For the stock mufflers and seat hump, cheers heaps mate, you're a legend, nice price too :2thumbsup
Whitetrash - You always look after me brother and you know i'll never buy a bike from anyone else ever (maybe but unlikely), you da man. Don't forget my gloves on sunday beeearch.
Motoracer - For transporting the TL to Deaths place, thanks man.
Death INC - For helping me put the finishing touches on the TL, being numerous welding broken bits up and our super stylie headlight and dash bracket, and various other mods, airbox, muffler :shifty: , doing the brakes, etc you know the lot, then the three nights in a row trying to get the thing running, stop leaking oil (doh), running again etc, you da man, and just so happen to have a lifetime of free pizza. Oh yeah and thanks for dropping the valves on the fornt cylinder too :Pokey: awfully nice of you :killingme and that brings me to.
Deaths mate Stan in Ozzie for finding a front cylinder head at Metropolitain (sp) Wreckers in Oz and to Metro Wreckers for the awesome price for the complete head. Big Ups to our Ozzie counterparts and like Vic Wreckers would recomend trying these guys for parts anytime too.
AT the end of it all the TL is now running about, popping wheelies like a bitch and making a fark load of noise :Punk: , it however still has a slight handling problem which is being sorted, thanks trashy, but it lives again. So i be a happy man, a now slighty overweight happy man, sitting on my arse for two months and numerous pies saw 15kg come out of no where  oppps.
To Kerri at MSW for doing a amazing job on my leathers, wonder if they fit??
And last of all a big thanks to all who offered support and and nice get well messages and general concern to me well being, thats a real good thing about this site  cheers guys oh n gals. And I'm so sorry if i missed anyone out, noway intended to...........
Hope to see most of ya at Taupo on Sunday, i shouldn't be hard to spot, just look for the horiest bike in the pits, proberly the loudest too
Cheers People

You can give me some tuition on the 2nd gear TL wheelie... starting to get it sorted now. Although I reckon with all that extra gut hanging over the rear of the bike you'll stuggle to ever get the front wheel down!

Saves wear on the tyres and brakes as well. That must have really hurt. Good to see the mighty TL is ready to scare all those VTRs and Ducs again.

What do you mean by "dropped both exhaust valves on the front cylinder"?
It means, exhaust valves destroyed, exhaust cam destroyed, head destroyed and a whole lotta coin, and one major headache trying to find 2nd hand parts.
As TL1000 motors don't (read don't) drop valves. Noone on TLplanet in the UK/USA/AUS has heard of a TL dropping a valve, infact no one full stop has heard of it happening and somehow Death and I have managed it. Go figure, it's not like i thrash my bike or anything, i take good care of it, it breaks i fix (quite often i might add)
I never said it was pretty, maybe a lick of paint, matt black. But it sounds good, and wheelies like a fookin bitch with no front fairing etc, great just what i need. Who's got dips on how long it takes me to step off again.
Oh yeah the 2nd green is the dark forest green which is the solo seat unit, and the thing on the headlight, well last minute mod, surprising how much wind it deflects.
See all you (most of you) peeps on Sunday :2thumbsup
Cheers to all with the nice eh comments.
See you on the road, or the side of the road as i pick bits of TL up.
Surprised no-one noticed the Death/Loosebruce special edition radiator overflow bottle. Stylie.
