Got pics of this... Really really cool :calm:

One can only imagine the bike capabilities now if he hadn't been taken away all too soon.

On a sidenote, not sure if I like the display position that Te Papa have placed the bike in.

Does anyone know if they still sell the merchandise via the website?

ah yes, the manliest pink and purple bike, with an exhaust that looks like an octopus copulating with a v-twin.

Ummm,
You may well find that is the stance the bike took when Mr Stroud was exiting Dunlop on Manfeild.....

Indeed. Mr B was pissing over the world's best at that stage - I would have loved to have seen what he would have been up to now.

Yep, amazing creation that it was, comparing the Britten to the Ducati's etc that it was beating is like comparing a MotoGP bike to a Superbike......and to make matters worse the MotoGP bike has a capacity advantage, even over the other twins. Still an amazing effort though from a very small underfunded team.

Luckly bugger, what would I give to have a squirt on a Britten! Our very own Mr Harris.

That's right, however, let's put it all in perspective.

No one else in the world at that time had assembled a more dedicated group of enthusiasts THAT ACTUALLY ACHIEVED SOMETHING.

It may not have been kicking as much arse as some of us want to remember, but people all over the world still know what the bike was, and the fact it came from Christchurch New Zealand.

I guess you will be trying to buy one to steal the engine and put in an a "GO CART" or sidechair or someshitlikethat.:weep:

First impressions when I was asked to help push it onto the stage area at the NZ tent in 2000 at the Dorkland viaduct, was what to grab and shit it's light and balanced. At the time to get up close to the beast, when the roped area was 5 mts from the bike was awseome.

It's the only position the bike was ever in between corners (front wheel aloft that is ;) )

He was a fuggin' genius. If he was still around his bike would piss all over anything in MotoGP.And all done with volunteer labour. That would show the big companies and their hundred million dollar budgets.
And it's not true he "borrowed" all his concepts for other designers and gave no credit for it.

Who know's!!! I'd like to think that they'd still be chugging along building bikes that could compete with the big boys and that it'd still be an independent...

Regardless genius of a man who dared to dream and follow through with it.

I wish I had such nice dreams, reality is a lil' less comfortable.
