Yes, spring has sprung, the grass has rizz, in dont' need to wonder where those birdies izz.

Balu and I went for a stunning ride today - over to Ngatea, lunch in Te Aroha then home via Morrinsville/Gordonton. Apart from a wee bit of wind chill early on in the morning it was just beautiful.

But. apparently in two separate incidents (just past Maramarua, and then heading into Gordonton) a mynah decided that my helmet was a nice little target practice. Rik was riding behind me and saw both - said they'd have been easily within a foot of my head as they swooped over me.

Just as well I hadn't seen them myself or I'd have probably needed a change of knickers. They "attacked" from behind me just outside of my line of vision - little buggers. At least they had the sense not to actually hit me! They're obviously not completely suicidal.

Anyways, just a reminder about territorial flying feathered things at this time of year.

Oh, and did I mention it was a stunning day for a ride....???..... :sunny:

Bah!

Not when it follows a night lying on frozen ground, too chilled to the bone to even be able to get any sleep..

Name change to "Frozen Kiwi" instead then? Just think of how nice and warm it will be then when you get home. You might thaw out by then

doh, wrong tense. Should be "did you thaw out on the way home"?..."was it nice and warm when you got home".....hahahaha (must have used up all my brain power on the ride; quick recharge of the brain battery I think)

Must be the time of year PB, I watched in horror/amusement on Thursday as a turkey tried to drop the nut on Nadroj. I'm not even sure they can fly can they, anyway, jumping or flying it was the size of Nadroj's head and it looked bloomin close from where I was

Not had an issue with mynah birds but them pesky eagleasauruses are mighty slow to leave the ground and the take off flight path always seems to be where I wan't to be.

Soooo, was it a good day for a ride at all ? ;)

If they are coming at you from behind you need to ride quicker, if from the front, don't duck when you have pillion. If you do duck, when your pillion get's up they will be really startled & annoyed. Ask my ex-wife..

Magpies are mean little farkers alright.

I used to p.bike to school (no helmet required back in those days) from Wainui Beach into Gizzy everyday and when the council built the new main road adjacent to Wairere Road, it went right through the middle of magpie country!

One day I heard this fap fap faping.

"WTF is that?"

I clicked that is was a magpie assault on my head.

So I raise my arm and start fap fap faping at it to try and scare it away. And because I was scared, my rectum started fap fap faping from furious contractions from my sphincter muscle.

I hate birds and their fap fap faping!

Being attacket by a bird? What did you say to her to make her do that to you?
