Went to the Matahina trail ride yesterday that was run by the tarawera trail bike riders club.
No rain for the previous 5 days had left the track in pristine condition with the loamy surface slightly tacky.
About 350 riders turned up and i think all had a ball.
We did 2 loops of the 40 km track in the morning ( mostly 3-4th gear with no gravel roads and plenty of uphill and down hill jumps ) and 2 loops of the 20 km track in the afternoon which included the famous roller coaster section.
I had not been there for about 18 months but the best thing was all the new tracks they had put in and the use of the bulldozer to grade the existing tracks to remove some of the ruts.
Best ride i have been on this year..... big thanks to the TTBRC :hug::hug:
