Nsr's are quick but that is wishful thinking

Ofcourse it's bull. The only 2 stroke 250 that'll go that fast is a 250cc GP bike like the Honda RS250R or the Yamaha TZ250 and they'd have to be the late model bikes as well with the right gearing and other settings. They'll cost a HELL of a lot more than what that NSR is going as well.

I think even the gp bikes would be hard pressed to find that sort of speed. You looking at 200, 220 tops on that 250 and then it would have to be an incedibly good runner (or have a few mods)

Full o' Shit(tm) I'm afraid. GP250's (the genuine model ie NSR250 factory bikes) will reach speeds of 280km/h, but a road NSR would be lucky to crack a genuine 200km/h in std form. Call his bluff, and give him a link to this page.
I did that on a NSR once...
Then I woke up and went to work.

Okay, as I should have done first I checked his sale page and its not std. But I still wouldn't believe over 265km/h. I sent a txt to him, see what he says.

When you pull the clutch in it makes a noise because
It doesn’t run in oil like most bike clutches the NSR man said that’s how they are.
Thats where the speeds at 'yo! niggggerzzzz'
I want to stab him.

Yeah LSD is good but what was he taking?.
You will be looking at 210kph or so on a sorted nsr.Or a very sorted one will do a little more but standard no way.BS meter at max plus 10.

Exactly. I park my bike on the yard at work so people think its for sale. When some people strike up a conversation about it I feel like just walking away, you know the story 'oh yeah I used to have a bike, an RSGKRTZR250 that did 250km/h'. One guy who I bought an RGV250 off told me that he had dropped it Ruapuna at 230km/h. I commented on how tidy it was for a highspeed drop like that. He told me that he had the 'flairings' replaced and fixed the tank. 'Uh-huh' I said trying to keep a serious face, 'replaced the spannies as well huh?'. He had no idea what I was talking about, so I explained to him. 'Oh, yeah I had a system that went from two cylinders to one pipe only'. A two-into-one system I asked him, explained myself again, and he said yeah, bought it out of the paper. Oh dear. Before taking it for a ride, he warned me that it will flip in 2nd gear no problem. And yeah, I still bought the bike. It was tidy and well priced. He was an idiot.

*cough*Bullshit*cough*
CMIIW But you'd be hard pressed to do the speeds he's talking about on a brand new 05 r6.
Ah well, lets all just be thankful he hasn't found our humble old forums.

1 or 2 possibilities, or a combination of the two...
1 / He is on drugs
2 / His right (assuming he's right handed)hand was doing 270kmh

Okay, some facts:
1. The MC21 was the first SP model. It came out in 1990.
2. It was geared to do 180 at 11,000.
Here's a site on the NSR250's if you are really interested:

And the MC21 specs if you can't find them on that page:

But this site just contradicts what you've posted?
"This time the all new MC18 got new bodywork, higher set silencers, new rear suspension, revised PGM II intake system, wider radial tires and for the third straight year saw the same fighting red and white colors, along with Terra blue colors and a slight variation with the red accented seat cowl. New colors in Black and gun metal grey debuted as well. Due to a large number of traffic accidents involving motorcycles. All NSR 250's were speed restricted from 1989. The option of the SP with lighter magnesium wheels, newly introduced dry clutch and all new colors was available for the price of 689,000 Yen. The SP model was sold in the Terra racing colors ( NSR racing sponsor ) of silver and white with green accents. The 1989 SP model also had fully adjustable front forks ( preload and rebound ) compared to the to regular R type which was adjustable for preload only. Also a whole new fully adjustable rear shock with reservoir. 1989 was also the first year for the dry clutch on street SP models. These NSR's were classified the R6K."
This all refers to the 89 NSR250SP which the bloke selling claims his is, he also says top speed around 240km/h. Depending what specs its modded too, could go close to this, certainly on his speedo, actual speed prob closer to 220km/h?

Although I cannot state it for a fact, Hondas are good, but I doubt that any NSR in NZ could do that speed. Mayve he thought he was on the 500cc model (but probably is just a plonker wanting more for the bike than its actually worth). I wonder could this be viewed as false advertising?
Have you read his advert, Honda? Best you do, aye? He doesnt say it will do 270....

What he did say was that he passed a mate who stated that he was going 265km/h. Now it does not take a rocket scientist to know that he must have been going quicker than his mate....
But I see that he has since ammended the speed to 240/250km/h, which is still very fast for this bike. Although not impossible?
His mate says "shit, man, I was doing 265!!" I told some guy something like that, think he had an RGV250, funny as, think I was doing 200km/h when he snuck past, told him how well his bike was going cos I'd had 240 on the speedo, he was well chuffed, bit shitty quite some time later when I told him the real speed :killingme
But allowing for dodgy speedo readings, I wouldnt be suprised if it did 240 on his speedo?
