I thought I grew on up genuine spotted dick. Now all I can see on the web is images of spongy puddings that look like they came out of a heinz tin...

Our pudding was steamed in a cloth (like clootie dumplin) and was a thick short sausage shape. We cut a thick slice and did indeed sometimes have it with custard.
Mostly however we buttered the slice, sprinkled granulated sugar on top and grilled the thing for another minute!

I may have to make one.

Them were the days!

Next up, rename Lardy Cake, Gypsy Tart, Gypsy Toast and Faggots. :crazy:
