Just on the rear sub frame, there are two bolts on the bottom and 2 bolts on the top i just took the bottom bolts out pulled the back up and then had a bracket made to space out the bottom bolts about 1 inch.

heres some pics, just needs to be cleaned up now

Checked with our engineer at work he said it should make any diff because the seating position is on the pivot point and im not changing the suspension in anyway at all so its basically all cosmetic, the riding position has changed a little but not much, its still not as far forward as my ZXR.

That should improve your fuel economy, as the bike is now always going downhill.

haha mean never thought about that! handles pretty good now. only the slightest difference in height. (on the seat) the backs way higher

Has it quickened the steering at all?

Yea it has a little, i read on a Honda Hawk (the equivilent bike in usa) that if you lower the front bars a bit on the shocks it quickens it a bit so i thought why not do it the other way and ill get the streetfighter or modern look and the handling. worked well, now i just need to find a resonably priced carbon headlight and im away, i was going to wrap the exhaust in heat wrap but i dont know how it will look, what you reckon

You could drop your forks through the triple clamp to enhance that effect further.

Looks good

Whats the joke Hyo boy? Raising the arse end will affect the steering geometry.

For sure it does, it was a bit weird riding it home it was so different, gave it a good go responded really well.

Check the RHS where the rear pipe comes through next to the frame. On my 650 the pipe touches the frame and the frame is hot down to the bottom and up for a fair distance. The plan is to wrap the pipe where it touches the frame.

The seat adjustment looks good. You can sell those little brackets. Give us a side pic.

If you're wanting to change the turn in and improve response it seems to me you'd change the rake.

Take a closer look at the first photo. He's only raised the angle of the rear subframe. The rear shock attachment is unchanged so the steering rake is unchanged. He's probably raised the CoG slightly however.

Hence the feeling of tipping in faster, the slight weight transfer toward the front may have the forks travelling a touch more hence altering tip in all that little !

My advise would be not to do any stoppies with them brackets (ok would like to see what thickness they are too)

I didnt change much else, but i think its more that my weight is a little higher and a little more foward so it puts a bit more weight on the front. defintaly on the bars i notced it when my wrists got a bit sore after a 45 min ride, plus my man grapes were a bit raw haha

They are quite thick about 4.5mm solid stainless steel. and the bolt threads are 10mm so shes pretty tuff.

Must have been pretty loose to allow you to spread them another 9mm or have you added tension to vibration ? Or do the brakets you made step in the 4.5 each ?

I think i know what you meen? like the brackets are 4.5mm with one on either side, had to pull them apart a little bit but it wasnt hard. bit of force works a treat hehe, ive givn it hell to see if it was strong enough. plus i got that engineer to have a look and he thought itd be well tuff.

Not saying it will happen but there is a chance the sub may crack, prob at the bolt end, or more than likely the stainless will tear ! If ya happy with it, cool, It's your ass !

ahh ok i see, nah it was no where near enough to stretch out like that, the plate may be like 3.5mm im not sure but i didnt hard out force it in. plus im going to reinforce it a bit better just in case, there is more room on the inside for a smalll arm going from the main frame, to the back of the sub. should be fine.

Is this the biker equivalent of the boi racers with their lowered car seats that make their cars go so much faster provided their caps are on sideways or backwards or they have their hoodies up and they only just manage to peer over the dash?

p.s. does it pull your trou up into a wedgie or is the slope not that steep?

I run LED's on my bike and love 'em. Some riders love them, some hate them and some don't care.

Usually teenagers love them.

For me it is the best damned high-viz stuff you can buy. At night no cage misses seeing my bike. It's worth it for that alone.

I'm a love them person so I win on both counts.

If you're putting more weight on your wrists then I'd guess you're leaning on the bar. The bars are for turning the bike not leaning on. You should be able to ride with no weight on the bars. Apparently.
