Hiya,
no dont worry I'm not going to blah blah about it, I only did some knee dragging a couple of days before the northland kiwibiker ride to make my sliders look like they were abused, just went down SH14 and did some dragin, the zxr is much easier to drag with than the ZZR thats for sure, probably the seat hight..

But anyone the point of the topic is, I was looking at my leathers crying about how I need new ones as these are falling apart from the bins, and noticed my right knee slider had taken alot of abuse, now I never drag my knee on the road no real point, and I cant remeber getting my knee down, so have there being any times that you have come back from a spicy(ish) ride and noticed your sliders have taken abuse.

Looking at them it looks like that the were scractched when I was in full lean, and had my knee out abit, as the wear is different to when I normally drag my knee... I thought that was abit scarey because I cant remeber feeling any feedback from the road when it must of happened?...

SO have you guys ever experienced damage to your sliders when you havent being trying to drag your knee? i.e just banking the bike and hugging it with your legs maybe sticking out abit like 10deg or sumin.?

I cant figure it out, its scarey that I must be banking that far, finally wore the dirty little 0.5cm chicken strips off since the northland ride, and even loose the front wheel in turns at speed but regain it to my relief, will be able to really have fun when I get the brakes sorted...

Sorry random post has no real point, just wondering if any one else ever experiences damage to sliders just by banking...

sorry, just random.

I haven't leant the CBR far enough, or don't have the skill to get my knee down

And in motard, I had my foot out whilst grinding the footpegs

awsome, love to get a motard as my next bike but doubt that will happen, dont worry after afew track meetings you will be draggin away, I'm just practising for when I get to the pukie open day 'one day' when my bikes ready... *sigh*

Want to put in a 1:25 or better if I could that would make me happy :Punk:

No matter what, you will feel whether you knee is scrapping or not... you would be suprised at the amount of random scrathes you can get from random stones...

I'm with TS on this: i'd be very surprised to find a rider scraping their slider and not knowing about it. Do you dump them on concrete when you take them off at regular intervals or hang them on a block wall?
My only other theory is that you've had some MAJOR nerve damage to your leg and knee at some point and that its all gone numb!

(I sure as hell know about it when mine touch down)

Perhaps you should turn the angle grinder off when not using it to make belivable scratches on the pegs :msn-wink:

(me disapointed I am having probs getting foot down after I sorted out my bouncy castle like suspention, but the chicken strip has nearly cone on my 200km old rear tyre )

Its funny that you say that, I have done just that.

Lost all the feeling in both knees, never really thought about that - but I normally feel the road feedback in my upper leg as opposed to the road grinding feedback.

Oh and I only wear my full gear when I'm going a long distance and always take care of them :niceone:

Once, was a hockey inuury just before I was playing for counties - then I left and screwed it in rugby, then chopped it open with a axe (yay!) then my other knee suffered some trail riding damage and in my writeoff crash I screwed it.

But yea, I normally feel the feedback, the real point was just asking if you guys forget how hard you are infact leaning..

Oh and XP@ I wouldnt do that...noo never ;)
