Did the WoF && Rego thing for the year
I like to keep the paperwork sorted so I can ride just whenever I want
But ouch that was expensive
Around a dollar a day just for the priviledge of a bike that can be used
And of course real running costs (tyres, chain, fuel oil etc) are on top of that again
Don't know about you guys - but as a recreational rider I actually have some trouble finding that sort of money these days :(

Yup,
I can only ever afford 3 months rego at a time. But what are you gonna do? Not like you'd give up riding eh!

If it wasn't for the insurance angle I would just risk the ticket. Highway fucking robbery the price of rego now.

Just make sure you only get caught once a year, otherwise the rego will be cheaper again.

I had to buy 3 months rego last time, too goddamn broke.
Come to think of it, I think it's coming up again in a couple weeks, I don't even have a WOF :crybaby:
Not that I've ridden it much.

Hmm, definitely looks worth putting rego on hold. You can still get a warrant with the rego on hold I think? However I've moved out Henderson way, and get pulled up all the time due to riding a very boy racery VFR400R with pretty white red and blue colours. At least they are checking that it hasn't been stolen.

You do realise all my combined running costs and insurances is still cheaper than your servicing on your KTM? :bleh:
And I wasn't complaining, I reckon still got a couple more bikes to get yet! :sweatdrop

Maybe you can paint them all the same colour and use identical decals using one rego:innocent:
I have 6 bikes 3 currently on the road 1 getting ready to go back on the road two for that when no body is looking moments
and according to the doc I'm not to ride until june next year

One of THEM a month would soon add up!:shit:
I got three. No wof/reg for the car, and no wof on the bike (didn't no it was out)...
Sorted the bike that day... $200 for not keeping tabs on paper work :crybaby:
As for the car, it has no reg because it failed WOF on headlights not 'focussing' into a solid line. It illuminates the road, and doesn't blind people when not on high beam so go figure. Cost of a new set of headlights... about $400. It pays to get things sorted before they run out!

The price of rego may be high but just think of all the improvements being made to our roads.....insert sarcastic smiley

well the ticket for no rego is only $200 ;)
But it's a wasted $200 because they backdate the rego back to the date it ran out.
I got hit with a $200 fine two days ago on Nelson St, the rego was miles out (3 days I think), and I just hadn't noticed.
The interesting thing is I have been ticketed a couple of times for scoot not displaying a Rego - she loses them out of the little holder thingee at higher speeds; an annoying hassle.

In the grand scheme of things, the WOF and rego prices aren't that high.
I'm more than happy to pay $1 a day for the privilege.
However I only have a single bike. I'd be more upset if I had to pay the same fees for multiple bikes.

I spend more than a dollar a day on my sugary snacks at work!
Actually i should really stop that and get my rego. Only 2 months overdue

I feel that the upkeep of my bike is a fair bit of money when you look at it but its a bargain compared to the stress therapy it gives me.
I love it when people suggest that I ride as a money saving exercise and then I mention what it costs me to run the Ducati for a year and wait for the penny to drop.

But 90% of the "rego" is ACC levy and ACC don't fix roads, they fix riders!!!

Yup,
I can only ever afford 3 months rego at a time. But what are you gonna do?
move to the uk, buy a pre 71 bike that is tax exempt and continue riding, annual mot is only once a year and cheap classic insurance
add to that double your income and its a real winner
then subtract the crap weather and congested roads
but europe is on your doorstep and you can ride in a staright line for a day or two with out running out of island

Must try and find out if BRONZ are onto this. Anyone know? I'm sure they are. At the very least I think we should be paying the ACC levy portion of rego per person, not per bike. Can only ride or drive one vehicle at a time.
The collective KB vote helped win CBR the nude wedding maybe we should all get lobbying ACC. Just a thought.
