Yannis and Stormy ...... yes, we have all lost whatever posts we put onto the hb page. This is obviously a consequence of the post having been shut down on us.

Lets just get on as bikers do and post up when, where etc for rides, and start to be happy people again.

How about we put the crap behind us and start again on a better note.

“united we stand”? Obviously we both believed that we had the freedom to express/communicate what ever we wanted to in this thread. I concede that my wish to address an issue with one or two HB KB’ers lead to your defence of our collective desire to moderate ourselves.

“Divided...”? As I said, my communicating my gripe with another member certainly contributed towards bringing the thread to the moderators attention. The person I was communicating with stepped way over the line of civility, swearing and threatening, and you taunted and teased the moderator, which was the final reason for him moving the thread. And yet I am the only one who has received any flak over this. From strangers who don’t even know me, no less. What gives?

I also confess that I didn’t know that there was

a) any rules preventing me from addressing issues and
b) that such rules were moderated along with punishments and
c) that there was a page/thread designated for dealing with gripes and general human contact.

Had I known, I would have used it. None of what I had posted was rude offensive or threatening.

So c’mon. Be fair.

Bloody hell !!!! I'm white??????
WTF
Why has noone ever told me?

schado
24th September 2009, 14:45
Na! its only when u grow up that most people take responibitly for they actions

Yep, absolutely correct. Coming to the realisation that not only are the effects of ‘action/reaction/consequence’ very real and an extremely important consideration in every aspect of life, so are the effects of ‘INACTION/reaction/consequence’.

Often ‘inaction’ from the victim of snooping and gossiping (even bullying) has the consequence of there being an increase in snooping and gossiping behaviour and thus creating a snowballing effect in regards to the damage being done.

So, I acted to put a stop to the snooping and gossiping perpetrated by a couple of KB forum members. And I thought that the best place to do it was in public, right in front of the most likely audience for these gossipers. I did it with humour but intent.
So again, what gives? C’mon, be fair.
You know guys, the price of diplomacy is that it gives the appearance of winging long-windedness.

I’m sure that I would have been considered an overkill sh*thead had I simply chosen to resolved my dispute by kicking someone’s face in.

A bit dodgy and not likely to earn me any more KB friends aye.

Actually, no. You weren't alone in asking the thread be put back...
When you go off on a rant about (whatever) most (all?) of us have no idea what you are on about. If it's an issue you have with someone in particular, sort it face to face. Or do via PM. Keep it off the open thread, cos really we're not interested.

yungatart
24th September 2009, 15:21
Schado, in my rather angry response to the shit fight you and your mate on the TL indulged in yesterday I specificallly named both of you.
Why you choose to see that as you being the only one to cop flak over it, I have no idea...but you are free to see it like that if you wish.
FYI, I pm'ed the moderator myself...it isn't all about you, dude!

schado

Actually, a good number of people do know what I am on about, and agree with my perspective. But yes, I have noted that I should not publically highlight and humiliate snoops and gossips in the HB Rides thread.

I'm by no means scared of meeting anyone face to face, rather, I thought it wiser to use written words so that I could manage my temper and maintain an acceptable level of civility. Nothing wrong with that.

I met face to face with someone yesterday, and I believe that he was going make good his role in this saga... after which I have happily agreed to forgive and move on.

This is a Rant and Rave thread right? Well, I was ranting; plain and simple. I felt the smilies were being overused to the 'nth degree and there wasn't one available to express my feelings. Yeah, know what your saying, just seems almost childish how if one dares to say anything that is not deemed to be in the appropriate area, they 'get in trouble', or 'infracted'.
Oh dear our live's will be over if that happens.:crybaby:

It's that Bill Gate's cunt and his fuckin internet thang that's the prob.........:angry2:
Spose he's the bloke who invented the internet, fucked if I know.
Ahh who cares.:girlfight::beer:

What he said. The thread was a great social place before all this shit happened. Might be time to move on. Has been a great place to meet people and do stuff but this is all shit. One thread was good and the social interaction was great. Running two threads is a hassle and on dial up it sucks. Things come and go and maybe it is time to move on…………

By the way Tony he didn't invent it, he ran with it. He could see the value in it and made his software, that he didn’t write by the way, open the net up to the world. A very big social revolution began because some people could see the value in knowledge and interaction. Arrr what the fuck I could go on for hours. Back to the race bike…………………..

This is stupid.

Can we not all drop down on 1 knee and propose to the moderators that we wont have another huge incident in our 'good' thread. And just back to socialising etc. As thats part of what being a biker is all about.

Im putting my hand up to beg for our thread being an all for one again :calm::calm:

What's so confusing? (The mods tell us that the) Ride thread is to talk about rides etc, RnR thread is to talk about 'shit'. But :finger: is abuse...that needs a thread of it's own. Doesn't it?

So that also means we need to start a thread about " Moo's muffins' as well, because that was a pretty hot topic for a few days in the "rides" area. Sorry Moo, don't know you, but looking forward to trying some of your muffins one day. Do you do savoury bacon, cheese and onion? ( All in one)

Hi Guys

If you have a problem with two threads .... unlike the manawatu riders who quite adapted ... you can have one thread in Rant and Rave ... we will merge the two quite happily ... you can still post seperate specific ride threads - but that will be your central one.

So choices:

1. two threads one in rant and rave and the other meetings and events

2. One thread in rant and rave

You decide - I don't care how you decide discuss amoungst yourselves - but you need to get Mstrs or Tart to communicate the results to the three senior mods - myself, virago and cajun.

For the record - the HB page is not the only one attacked now, they have all had to make two threads and if you go into their pages, they are all protesting like us - we may have been the start of it - but it hasn't ended with us.

Two threads is pathetic, and if all the groups "rant and rave" (pardon the pun) then they might let us go back to the way it was.

burp - scratch my arse, and have I repped anyone else lately - that was todd's input.... over and out

Just read my post from Sunday, it was also about the bike, ( tyres, pressures, chain) Now looking at all the catagories, I should have posted one on General Maintainence ( tyre pressures) one on Engine, Clutch, Transmission ( chain tension reference), one on Frame, Suspension, Final Drive ( also chain tension reference) and one on Brakes and Wheels ( tyre pressures again) Too hard and can't be bothered, so probably just won't say anything anymore, anywhere, ever again. We, some K/Bers, have had ups and downs on K/B before. Look at my infraction. A bloody 10 cos I said what I think. No regrets on that.

We are guests here and this belongs to Spankme. A great bloke that I meet years ago in Taupo. I have some beef with him over things on here but I am a God bothera so I would.

At the end of the day this has been a great place to meet and organise stuff but if it doesn’t work for us we need to move on. We do not own it. It will be hard to organise rides with out it but the social group thing I will miss.

So if anyone has another place that we can meet and do what was working here post it up and we can look to move. No loss to K/B as we are only a very small part of this place.

Does anyone have the link to sports bikes? I have lost it over the years as I went to them after the last infraction but came back here after a while. Just an idea to keep the group going.

Whats with all the rules , we weren't harming anyone or has someone been complaining ??? I don't think anyone else other than HB folk and friends would be the least bit interested in what had become a social thread and I am guessing most were quite happy.
Is there one or two that think what they want should out weigh the majority????
I don't post much but I always enjoy having a read about what people are up to , the rides , the bikes and the general fun poking that goes with it.
2 threads makes it disjointed.
We are motorcyclists for F##ks sake , which in most cases means we are non conformists by nature ( excluding the Wannabees here ) . we ride to have fun and generally ignore the rules that are not important.

I started the HB rant a rave thread for the reason that anyone new to KB from the Bay would wonder what the hell was going on and give us a miss because things were getting a little to personal on here. I am the first to admit that two threads is a bloody hastle. We had a nice place to visit and chat about all sorts in the HB ride thread. Ok, so the moderators got involved, we learnt a lesson and that should have been it. I have to say that I feel that the moderators have now gone over the top with the way they have handled this all since then. We are grown ups, we should all be able to move on and return to normality ... on the ride thread!

Quasi closed the sportsbike website if that's the one you were referring to. Starting up another site for meetings would be simple as pie and something I'd
(and I'm sure others) would be more than happy to do. But anything else just simply wouldn't have the members and pretty much no one would be interested while this place is still alive. I don't really know of any other sites currently available for organising meetings.

Hey guys. Just a bit of advice fwiw. We went through this exact same situation in the Manawatu threads over a year ago. If you think this is bad, have a dredge lol. Anyway, the only rule you really need to observe to have a hassle free time is simple.

Don't get personally abusive.

Or if you feel the need, do it privately

This is completly out of left field I know, but my 10 year old daughter and 15 year old son say that we could maybe try 'texting' each other. Apparently you can send multiple texts to a group of people to whom you may wish to comunicate your desire to partake in a mutually satisfying sojurn into the countryside upon one's motorcycle as a group. ( If there are any English teachers out there reading this, then bugga off.) The other options are letter box drops ( works for Real Estate Agents), word of mouth, writing a letter, or set times like there are now, ie, Thurs/ Sat Mobil Taradale Rd, Sat end of month Classic Club, Sunday end of month Burger Fuel ride. Are there any we have missed?

Hi Guys

If you have a problem with two threads .... unlike the manawatu riders who quite adapted ... you can have one thread in Rant and Rave ... we will merge the two quite happily ... you can still post seperate specific ride threads - but that will be your central one.

You decide - I don't care how you decide discuss amoungst yourselves - but you need to get Mstrs or Tart to communicate the results to the three senior mods - myself, virago and cajun.

Will it work if the HB rides thread gets moved to Rant and Rave and we start a new HB rides thread with a link to the original one?

We will post rides and events on the new one(must use it or it will end up lost in the other pages) and just put a link on every now and again so visiters know theres more happening in the HB bike scene and we can have a laugh and take the piss at each other

What do you lot rekon?

Oh dear!
This is too sad.
All other regions have a ride (or multiple ride) thread/s and a rant and rave thread.
Imagine if you were a visitor to HB and wanted to hook up with the locals for a ride in the weekend...you have to trawl through pages of stuff looking for where the meeting place is....because the original post is no longer valid.
If you subscribe to both threads it pops up in your User CP and is easy to find.
It hs been a great social place, as Steve said, and can continue to be so. Everything evolves over time, this is just another example of that.
BTW Nasty is just the messenger. She is not on a personal dictatorship crusade, just enforcing site rules, as is her job.
FWIW, I think two (or more threads) will work well, "Weekend Rides", "Weekday rides" and "Rant and Rave".
A local website might work but I have made such great friends from all over the country through KB...that would never happen on a local website.

I trust this is a Joke John ?????? we dont need threads for each day of the week do we

It was said in jest, but there is a big element of truth in it too.
What's happening here is not unique. All the other regions have had the same 'tightening up' hit them too.
I believe the problem is out-of-towners coming in to another region's ride thread to perhaps join in if they come to visit, but there is so much banter between the locals that they can't find the info they want. I'd say that some of those people have complained to the mods, who've watched and then acted. There was a final straw...and we all know what that was. Yes, I'll put my hand up to a bit of 'mod-baiting', although it was not meant seriously...(a day in PD, remember)
I know it's a hassle having to look in 2 or more places, but I'm afraid we're stuck with it. We are not being singled out, guys...just check the other regions' ride threads. All this stuff about taking it to another website...won't work. Sportsbike was supposed to be the new KB, free of mods and so on, and it's gone now. Like it or not, KB is an essential part of our social network, with a presence on the general m/c scene that just can't be replaced.

MSTRS
30th September 2009, 08:29
The 'new' regime can work just as well as the old, and probably better, too. We can have a variety of Ride threads in Meetings+Events, the titles being what identifies them and a banter thread in R+R. If anyone wants to make sure a proposed ride gets noticed, just put it in the (appropriate) ride thread and then put a link in the R+R thread.
As YT said, you can subscribe to any thread you like, and then if you click on UserCP any thread subscribed to that has new post/s will show at the top of the page.
It might be a little cumbersome, but a thread title of HB Weekend Ride, HB Weekday Ride, HB Evening Ride, whatever... is at least descriptive of what can be found within.
The other thing is that new people do crop up from time to time, and a single thread full of everything including the various personalities, must be a bit offputting for them. Look at GruesomeHat for instance...he was certainly confused as to what was really going on, who was fucking who, and who wasn't paying.
Let's just give this 'new' system a fair go. Time will tell whether it will work well for everybody.

Some sanity seeping through - thanks Yungatart and MSTRS.

The hysterical response to a minor issue is rather disappointing.

It has simply been requested that you keep actual "Ride" threads in Meeting & Events clear of excessive off-topic banter. It is not an onerous request. People shouldn't have to wade through pages of drivel to find what's happening ride-wise.

Someone set up this separate thread for banter, and there's no reason why the thread can't be used for non-ride related discussions.

There will always be a certain amount of banter in ride threads, it's not a problem, if it's not taken to extremes - and no-one complains. The Mods would prefer to stay out of such threads, but occasionally we might need to step in, especially if requested.

Chill out. You've still got your ride threads as before, with another thread here for general chit-chat. Business as usual...

I can't be bothered with the way it is here now and other shit, and being an old cunt, can't be bothered with change, so will post fuckall now, and still ride and keep up to date via PM and telegraph wire.

So this is the place to throw some shit around... swearing allowed? Nice. Cool. Now Toddy can vent from within his cot. Of course he can pm any threats or offers of meetings if he's worried that people might judge him for his hillbilly grammar and ten year olds spelling mistakes in here. LOL. Get yer head in its rat week.

... the HB Rides thread is back where it started and where it belongs.
Why? Because, even though I believe that I had lost my PM ability, I, the only one receiving any flak, made an effort to persuade the moderator to reinstate the page...
... and he did.

:done: Well done! and so ya should be.

Actually, no. You weren't alone in asking the thread be put back...
When you go off on a rant about (whatever) most (all?) of us have no idea what you are on about. If it's an issue you have with someone in particular, sort it face to face. Or do via PM. Keep it off the open thread, cos really we're not interested. and you

Yes it is back and it will disappear again if it is abused. I have put another link in that thread to here. Mmmmmm Nasty Mmmmmmm (maybe change of name)

Ok I think I have a solution to the fiasco that has happened here. K/B has grown big. That’s a good thing.
So why don’t we make sub headings under Rides and events for each region. IE Hawkes Bay . Then put Subheadings in each region. Ie Rides and events, rant and rave etc.?
That would fix the problems we currently have and address the issue that people have with not being able to find the rides for their or others regions? Tony has made a great job of the Hawkes Bays new forum site.
That way every region can have stickys for organised regular rides and new entry’s for one off rides.
K/B could have an area for national rides. Ie the South Island ride and the K/B North Island ride.
So what do the Moderators think of this idea? It would be prudent to consider it and IMHO it would work very well. Appoint a moderator to each regional heading to work only in that thread.

Ducks at Manfeild Andrew........ Never

Saw a great pic of the super sport bikes with mum and the ducklings crossing the track

C u there tomorro

Maybe you haven't been around long enough Jason - I've been to Manfield plenty of times and there ARE ducks in that Jet Sprint track in the middle. Maybe you've been lucky enough to have not seen them - but they can be a hazard.

So never say never!

Maybe you should get your facts RIGHT before you open your mouth/keyboard Shirley !

The jet sprint track hasnt been at Manfeild for 5 years!

And I have seen ducks at manfeid MANY times myself, I have even had to ride around them while racing ! Have you?

Do you actualy read what people say on here before you post or do you just post to prove you are right(while completely ignoring the facts) ?

I know how you feel. I've used Diablo's on my SV for what seems like forever, and they never let me down once. It was not the best option to put on the GSXR1000 when I needed to put new tyres on it, as they would be chewed out too quickly. The boys here are all running Pilot Road 2's, so decided to try them out.

Personally, they seem to grip well, even in the wet, as I managed to ride bit quicker than some in the rain, and I never lost confidence in them.

Certainly a tyre I would recommend as they tend to stick as well as my favourite Pirrellis.

Sometimes you gotta try something, but the boys all rave about the PR2's, and now, so do I

What model diablo's were you using on the SV ,its about time i did some tyre shopping

Diablo Stradas - they're the best - in my opinion. And thats all that counts when I ride.

The strada's are there tour tyre, that was one option because there are available in 170. not worried about how long they last to much tho

Wrong answer Jason!

Pirelli Diablo Strada
The Pirelli Diablo Strada is a radial tyre designed for sports tourers, with a surprisingly broad spectrum of applications. Build as a distance/touring tyre, the Diablo Strada can sit as happily on a hypersports bike as middleweight commuter. With a high silica compound the tyre warms quickly and repels water well. In line with its roots as a touring tyre, the Pirelli Diablo Strada's has a tread that is cut 25% deeper than the Diablo for longer tyre life.

There are 4 different types of Diablos: Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa Pro; Pirelli Diablo Strada ; Pirelli Diablo H and Diablo ZR; Pirelli Diablo Corsa III!!!!!!!!!!

:Offtopic:

The Diablo H (now HR) and ZR dont exist anymore !!!!!!

There are 9 Diablo's , 2 race , 6 road , and 1 scooter . Why post out of date info to prove you are right?

http://www.nwa.co.nz/products.php?Brand=Pirelli

http://www.nwa.co.nz/product_detail.php?P_ID=3120

Pirelli Diablo Strada
The ideal tyre for people who love long touring journeys, but don’t want to sacrifice the sporty side of riding.

• Co-designed front and rear design, to guarantee a sporty performance on all kinds of roads.
• Functional and distinctive front and rear tread design to maximise water dispersal.
• High Grip compound to guarantee constant performance through the long life of the tyre.

Wrong answer Jason!

[I]Pirelli Diablo Strada
Build as a distance/touring tyre,

What part of tour isnt that Shirley!

And i know there are lots of diferent Diablo's ,Diablo Rosso is there new tyre and there is a Angel as well that is along the same lines as the Strada

Edit ,I forgot to put some more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, that's what Mouse used to race on the GSXR600 and TL1000 about 5 years ago. That is why I ended up with them, as the sides were screwed, but not the middle. I do not class them as a touring tyre at all.

Tyre technology moves fast Shirley, They(strada's) are available in a really good range of sizes too, more so than the rest of the Diablo range. Still deciding what to do with tyres , and if I keep the Duke. A cheaper road bike and another race bike sounds more fun

Well, they are still my fav tyre and have great stickability. It is obvious that technology changes, that is why there are so many more options out there. But at the time, Strada's were what Pirrelli were promoting as race tyres. But Jason, it doesn't really matter.... that is my opinion, and yes, they have to produce in different sizes, as bikes have different size wheels. I understand that too.

stickability , I like that word lol. 180 and 190 are easy to get ,170 is a inbetween size, thats were the sportyer tyre ranges stop and start again at 160(if your lucky)

I was using 180's on my SV - abit on the big side, but still fitted ok. Never had problems with it

Didnt you notice the slow turn in and weaving at low speed and on changing road surfaces?

I bet it handled just awesome with a worn out ex race/tour tyre with the sides worn off and a 180 on a rim designed for a 160 ...........NOT

I wasn't going to reply to your post's Shirley bit they really ruffled my feathers(excuse the pun) and didnt run like water off a ducks back this time.

I dont rate your technical knowledge for giving advice to other riders on here or anywere , It COULD cause a accident if a newbee does what you say

PS The last time you were at Manfeild strada,s MAY have been used as a race tyre , but they are a tour tyre like I said !!!

Rant over , carry on as usual
Thanks
Jase

Im hanging out to get to the track , only 2 weeks to go:banana:. Just ordered my new tyres today and need some new boots too. The classes in the Post classic GP should be great fun . pre 72 snr and jnr , pre82 snr and jnr ,and pre 89 snr and jnr . all with separate races for senior and junior. It will be good to race with only pre 82 jnr bikes, so we all start running out of brakes , overheat the tyres and shocks all about the same time. There is a bears and protwin class too I think. I think its time I resurect my pre 72 bike as there are 2 new ones about to get to the track shortly. It just a scary old thing to ride (in a fun way)

Its a national thing, Steve. They are doing this all over the country on that day. Here it is a PR exercise designed to educate the general public and get them on our side.
They are working with BRONZ on this issue and my understanding from having talked to the local president is their members are very upset.
Just putting it out there...nobody has to go if they don't want to.

It’s great that they are doin somthin. That’s not what I meant. We participated in the WRB protests and made no noise, and they just walked away. I know you are not a militant person and many others don’t want to fight for this in public but remember what Clark said. “ I like silent protest because I don’t have to listen to them “ I am coming across negatively, it would appear. I congratulate all the people working on this but I see us going down the same old road as the WRB protest. We really do need hundreds of people to make a stand and make people ask “ what the hell was that all about? “ We don’t need the public on our side. Most of them hate bikes anyway. We need for them to understand what has happened and why we are doing what we are doing.

Anyway the time might come that we will have to make a stand. When the first $1K bills come in people will have to look very hard at what they do. However divided we will fall and all the rego comes in at different time for all bike owners. So we can’t all stand up on the day of rego and say “NO”. The first people will have to suck it up and we will all follow unless we protest very long and hard. Big time hard. Lets get this protest done and reassess what we do after that.

Absolutely Steve! This is not a campaign that will be won with one batttle...hence, local protests, meetings with MP's, letters to the editor, submissions to parliament etc etc...this is just Stage One...and regional co ordinators are well aware of that.
As you say, now is not the time to be divided. Hard to unite a bunch of motorcyclists...we are all individuals, with different viewpoints etc..but this thing has us all crying out.
It doesn't matter if Ulyssess are doing something different as long as things are being done all the time and this stays in the public eye. Look what happened with the ACC sexual abuse thing...the Govt backed down.
We do need the public on our side if we are to be successful, IMO. That is why we have decided to go with the "who's next?" logo...that gets support from toyota corolla driving Joe and Jane Public...believe me!

I for one will have to dispose of my bike if these levies come in...we just plain can't afford it.
BTW...I am actually quite militant, I just choose my battles... just ask my man!

Me to G. I new this was going to happen when the big stick came out. K/B was a great place for a few years but it has fallen apart now the big stick is out. I miss the company and time we spent talking shit. As we are no longer racing we are likely to loose contact with most of the old K/B group. I learnt a long time ago that some things that are working should just be left alone to work. The thing that pissed me off the most was the reason the thread was killed. People from out of H/B couldn’t find out what rides were on by reading the thread. Well try finding the fucken rides now you stupid people……………… Arrrrr I am still mad………. Nice to see you online G. Sorry about the langue but it is the only way I can express how I feel about what happened. If it wasn’t for the protest ride on the 17th I would have del my link to K/B. Why would I be on here if it wasn’t to catch up with you and some of the others. I don’t even see them on here now. FFS…………………………………. Off topic …. Fuck yes ……….

Has da Port bottle run dry or sumfing... better go have a lie down eh:angry2:

We are off to Taupo in the morning. Post-classic racing tomorrow, a family funeral later in the day, and Pacific Summer Series on Sunday.
The (variety of) flyers are appearing in the darnedest places :Punk: There may be a few dotted about Taupo soon.

Just to let everybody know that Shado fell off his bike last weekend. And was air lifted to Hospital by helicopter with suspected broken leg, pancreas, ribs...... If anyone cared, like those to let us know.

He has been released from hospital. Bike not too bent as he ended up riding along the ditch before dismounting the bike.

I drove up to Napier this friday just gone, on my way I was pinning up flyers for the Bikoi protest ride in Dannevirke then Waipuk and Waipawa, had one left when I got to Hastings where I was staying the night at 2Wheeled Gasman's place. Thought ok, i'll see if they'll put it up in the BP at Storford. They would'nt put it up anywhere which was odd because no one else of the eight places I went to on the way up had any hesitation in displaying the flyer. Bit sad...

Sites like Stortford, Bay View are BP owned, company policy, rest of BP's locally are independents majority run by company I work for plus Mangering Director rides and owns bikes himself,

Oh and if anyone wants some copies of flyers/posters I have some printing balance at school that needs to be used before I leave. Let me know and I'll get some and drop them off somewhere.

The weather was indeed at its best, however you could not really describe my racing as fast and clean. I have much to learn and many laps to clock up in order to learn it.

They opened labour weekend. And everyone had the same idea i had. Nice place i gotta say.

And if you park yr bike at the front door, you will be able to sit inside and keep an eye on it on the security tv.
Not that anyone would take an R1.
