If i can describe this superbike in one word it can be summed up by the word "INSANE".

Brutal power delivery you could ride this bike and never get out of first gear and still get a ticket on the highway :laugh:, very impressive
Its a matter of trying to keep the front wheel on the ground rather than trying to get it off the ground!

Very nice toy to have in the garage.

Yes, the new 09 YZF-R1 is awesome. The old model was a good bike but the technology on the new one is a massive leap forward. I did 700 kms on our Demo the other weekend and loved it. Didn't want to get off it :)

Yup I had it to 170 in first on a motorway onramp in the wet... reckon I could have pushed 175+ had I not been struggling to keep the rear from spinning and the front from lifting up at the same time :blank:well above legal sppeeds with 5 gears to go. Jealous, nah. I picked up my new bike last Tuesday and it suits me fine. I learnt pretty quickly that 150hp on my GSXR1000K3 was overkill. My current bike has more torque (aka usable power) than your old R6 so I don't need to rev it's tits off to get it moving.

The 06 and 07 R6's are the same apart from the paint jobs. The 'raven' R6's that you owned and wrote off were from 06. The 07 black R6 had the side panels in silver.

The differences between the 06 and 07 R1's is huge, for instance the 06 is 5-valves per cylinder whereas the 07 has 4 valves per cylinder. However again the difference between the 07 and 08 R1's is purely cosmetic.

Don't be so hard on Pete for hitting a parked car, especially when his bike was ride-able afterwards which is completely different to the state of your last R6 after you introduced it to a roundabout.
